Returns & Refunds

We stand behind everything we sell. This page explains how returns, refunds, and faults are handled at Motorcycle Audio Australia in clear, plain English — and how your rights are protected under Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

If you need to return something or think there may be a fault, we’re here to help — just email support@motorcycleaudio.com.au.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. If a product has a major fault, you are entitled to a replacement or refund. If a fault is not major, you are entitled to a repair or replacement.

Nothing on this page limits or removes your legal rights.

If your item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect

If something arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect, we’ll make it right.

  • Email support@motorcycleaudio.com.au with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos or video.
  • Shipping damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Manufacturing faults can be reported at any time during the product’s warranty period.
  • Claims are assessed within 7–10 business days.
  • If a fault or error is confirmed, we will organise a repair, replacement, or refund and cover reasonable return-shipping costs.

Damage caused by incorrect installation, wiring errors, modification, misuse, or neglect is not covered.

If a product is returned as faulty and no fault is found, it will be treated as a change-of-mind return and inspection fees may apply (typically AUD $25–$75 depending on product type).

Change-of-mind returns

We are not required to accept change-of-mind returns under Australian Consumer Law. However, we offer them as a courtesy under the conditions below.

When change-of-mind returns are allowed

  • You must request return approval within 14 days of delivery.
  • An RMA number must be issued before sending anything back.
  • Once approved, the item must be shipped within 7 days.
  • Photos of the sealed packaging are required before return.
  • The product value must be $50 or more.
  • Return shipping is paid by the customer.

Condition requirements

  • Items must be unused, uninstalled, and factory sealed.
  • All original packaging, seals, manuals, and accessories must be included.
  • Retail packaging must not be written on, labelled, or taped.
  • The item must be in resalable condition.

Items that cannot be returned for change of mind

  • Any audio or electrical product that has been opened
  • Installed, test-fitted, or powered-on items
  • Special-order, custom, back-ordered, or modified items
  • Items purchased for incorrect fitment where no written advice was provided
  • Gift cards
  • Orders under $50

These items are final sale for change-of-mind returns. Faulty goods are still protected under Australian Consumer Law.

Refunds, restocking & shipping deductions

Approved change-of-mind returns are refunded to the original payment method after inspection.

  • Under $200 — 20%
  • $200–$500 — 25%
  • Over $500 — 30%
  • Minimum fee — $25

Restocking fees cover inspection, repackaging, handling, admin, and payment-gateway costs.

If your order included free or discounted shipping, the actual freight cost (minimum $15, maximum $100) will be deducted from the refund.

Refunds are processed within 10–14 business days after the return is received and approved.

Fitment & installation

Please check fitment carefully before purchasing — we are always happy to help.

  • Once a product has been installed, test-fitted, wired, or modified, it cannot be returned for change of mind.
  • If we confirmed fitment in writing and it proves incompatible, we will work with you on a fair solution.

International orders

International returns follow the same rules. For change-of-mind returns, customers are responsible for all shipping, taxes, duties, and customs charges.

For confirmed faults, we may arrange a replacement without a return, or reimburse return shipping once the fault is verified.

How to start a return

Email support@motorcycleaudio.com.au with your order number, photos or video, and a brief explanation. We’ll guide you through the next steps.

You must have an RMA number before sending anything back.
