5.25" Speakers

On a standard Touring model, usually yes. Factory-audio 1998 to 2013 Street Glide, Electra Glide, Ultra, Road Glide and Tri Glide models use 5.25 inch fairing speakers, and Ultra and Tour-Pak rear positions are 5.25 inch as well. From 2014 to 2023 the standard Street Glide, Street Glide Special, Electra Glide, Ultra Classic and Ultra Limited use 5.25 inch, as do standard 2015 to 2023 Road Glides. On Skyline OS, standard 2024 and newer Street Glide and Road Glide models stay 5.25 inch, and so does the 2025 Street Glide Ultra. CVO and Limited models are the exception: several CVO configurations, the 2020 to 2022 CVO Tri Glide and current Limited and CVO models left the factory with 6.5 inch, so check yours by model and year. Often, yes. On 2014 to 2023 batwing and 2015 to 2023 Road Glide fairings, a 6.5 inch speaker built for the bike mounts in the original speaker housing using the factory fasteners, without cutting. On 1998 to 2013 bikes it needs an adapter ring, and an adapter changes the mount, not the physical depth, so check it against your fairing.

A horn-loaded design is generally chosen for higher sensitivity and stronger projection at riding volume, while a conventional coaxial may favour a simpler install and broader tonal balance. Compare published sensitivity, power handling and frequency response rather than choosing by architecture alone.

Many aftermarket 5.25 inch speakers benefit from a correctly matched amplifier, particularly high-output models. Some are designed as factory-radio replacements, so check the recommended power and impedance. See the amplifiers.
