Bass & Mid-Range Drivers
Bass-midrange drivers handle the lower midrange and upper bass frequencies, typically from around 60 Hz to 3 kHz. In a motorcycle component system, they're the primary driver in the fairing or saddlebag lid position, crossed over to a separate tweeter above 2.5–3 kHz. The quality of the mid-bass driver determines the power, warmth and body of your system's sound at highway speed.
Cicada Audio's CM and CMB series are the primary mid-bass options in the MAA range. The CM series is a compact, high-excursion driver designed for sealed or sealed-back installations in standard Harley fairing positions. The CMB series is a larger-format driver suited to custom enclosures and Tour-Pak positions where more excursion and lower bass extension are possible. Both are available in 2Ω and 4Ω variants to suit different amplifier configurations.
Running a dedicated mid-bass driver rather than a full-range coaxial gives you better thermal handling, cleaner high-frequency hand-off to the tweeter, and more excursion at low frequencies. If you're building a serious front stage, a mid-bass driver paired with a compression tweeter and a DSP crossover is the right combination. Ships Australia-wide and to New Zealand.
