Soundstream & Precision Power Warranty

This page explains the manufacturer-backed warranty process for Soundstream and Precision Power products purchased from Motorcycle Audio Australia, plus your protections under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund depending on the nature of the issue. Nothing on this page limits your ACL rights.

Soundstream warranty (manufacturer-backed)

Soundstream products are covered by a manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Warranty period

  • Up to 2 years when the product is purchased from an authorised Soundstream/Precision Power seller and installed by an authorised Soundstream/Precision Power seller, with proof of installation.
  • Reduced warranty coverage applies if the unit was purchased or installed outside the authorised network, or if proof of authorised purchase/installation cannot be supplied.

What you’ll need for a Soundstream claim

  • Your order number (or proof of purchase)
  • Proof of authorised installation (invoice/receipt showing install and business details)
  • Clear photos/video showing the issue
  • Serial number (if applicable)

Precision Power warranty (manufacturer-backed)

Precision Power products are covered by a manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Warranty period

  • 1 year from the original purchase date when purchased through an authorised dealer and professionally installed by an authorised dealer.
  • Reduced warranty coverage applies if the product is purchased or installed outside the authorised network.

What the manufacturer warranty does not cover

  • Incorrect installation, wiring faults, reversed polarity, blown fuses, or voltage issues
  • Damage caused during installation or removal
  • Water ingress caused by improper sealing/installation or non-compliant mounting
  • Accidental damage, impact, misuse, neglect, or unauthorised modification/repair
  • Normal wear and tear

How to start a warranty claim (important)

Contact us first before sending anything back. Most claims start with remote assessment (photos/video) to avoid unnecessary freight and downtime.

Step 1 — Email support

Email support@motorcycleaudio.com.au with:

  • Your order number
  • Product name + (if available) serial number
  • A clear description of the issue (when it happens, what you’ve tried)
  • Photos/video of the wiring setup and the issue
  • Proof of authorised installation (where required for your warranty period)

Step 2 — Assessment & authorisation

If a return is required, we’ll issue return instructions and (where applicable) an RMA/RA reference for processing.

Step 3 — Return packaging & freight

  • Return freight is typically pre-paid by the customer unless ACL requires otherwise or we confirm an error on our end.
  • Use protective outer packaging. Do not place labels directly on retail boxes.
  • Include proof of purchase and any required installation documentation.

Inspection outcomes

  • If a fault is confirmed, the outcome will be a repair, replacement, or refund in line with ACL and the manufacturer’s warranty process.
  • If no fault is found, or the issue is caused by installation/wiring/vehicle-side problems, the item may be returned to you and inspection and freight fees may apply.

Need help before you install?

If you’re not 100% sure about fitment, wiring, or compatibility, reach out before the install. It’s the fastest way to avoid downtime and protect your warranty coverage.
