A 6.5 inch speaker built for 2014–2023 Street Glide, Ultra and Road Glide fairings usually mounts without an adapter ring, while older bikes and generic speakers commonly need one.

Which adaptors and mounts does your Harley audio install need?

Adapter rings and mounting hardware bridge the gap between an aftermarket component and the factory position, so a driver or amplifier fits and mounts cleanly. When an aftermarket speaker does not match the factory opening, an adapter can correct the mounting diameter or bolt pattern, though the driver's basket width, depth, magnet clearance and grille clearance must still be checked; when an amplifier needs a secure home, a purpose-built rack mounts it in the fairing or, for a larger amp, another location on the bike. This is the hardware that turns a parts list into a clean install.

FAQ

Do I need an adapter for my new speakers?

An adapter ring can correct the mounting diameter or bolt pattern, but basket width, magnet depth, grille clearance and pod volume must still be checked. Check the product fitment.

What is an amplifier rack?

A purpose-built bracket that mounts an amplifier securely in the fairing or, for a larger amp, a saddlebag or another location, model-specific for a clean install. Match it to your amp and bike.

What are the HDRING kits?

Cicada HDRING systems provide cut-in mounting hardware for suitable 8 or 10 inch saddlebag drivers. Cutting, drilling, bracing and additional installation parts may be required depending on the kit. See the Cicada saddlebag systems.
