Tweeters
Tweeters handle the frequency range above roughly 2.5 kHz — the register that carries vocal clarity, cymbal detail, and the upper harmonics that make music sound natural. At highway speed, wind noise blankets this range first, so a quality tweeter isn't an audio luxury — it's recovering the part of the music most vulnerable to your riding environment.
Motorcycle tweeters split into two families. Dome tweeters are the standard format — compact, smooth response, and the right choice for mild to moderate builds. Compression driver tweeters (horn-loaded) have dramatically higher sensitivity and projection, and are the correct choice for high-power builds where output and reach are the priority. Cicada's RR2TM and the horn-loaded options in the Precision Power and Velocity ranges sit in this second category.
Crossover point matters as much as the tweeter itself. Running a tweeter too low increases distortion and risks damage; crossing it above 3 kHz gives a cleaner hand-off from the mid-bass driver. On an active DSP system you dial this precisely. If you're selecting a tweeter for a specific build, call us before ordering. Ships Australia-wide and to New Zealand.
