Component Speakers
Component speakers separate the mid-range driver and tweeter for independent positioning — the result is wider imaging, cleaner highs and more accurate sound reproduction than a coaxial design can deliver. Used in serious front stage builds where clarity and staging matter as much as volume. The right choice when you're building a system rather than just swapping speakers.
On a Harley Touring bike, component systems typically position the mid-bass driver in the fairing cutout and the tweeter in a fairing pod, dash position or grille-mounted location. This gets the high frequencies closer to ear level, improves stereo imaging, and lets you cross the tweeter higher to reduce distortion and protect it from heat.
Most component kits include a passive crossover. Some higher-end builds use an active crossover via DSP instead — this gives you more control over the crossover point, slopes and level matching between the drivers. If you're considering a DSP-driven active front stage, talk to us about the right amp and processing combination before choosing your drivers. Ships Australia-wide and to New Zealand.
