Active 2-way component full stage for 2014–2023 Harley Touring — CM65.2X + CM69.2X midbass, RR075T tweeters, FLX1400.4PRO DSP

The 14FLXPCM-4X8 is Cicada Audio’s flagship full-stage active component kit for 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson Touring. It pairs the FLX1400.4PRO DSP amplifier — 350W × 4 at 2Ω — with CM65.2X 6.5″ carbon matrix midbass in the front fairing and CM69.2X 6×9″ carbon matrix midbass in the saddlebag lids. RR075T 0.75″ titanium ring radiator horn tweeters cover high-frequency reproduction at both front and rear positions, with CHD69TB tweeter bridges integrating the rear tweeters into the saddlebag lid openings. Variant-specific grilles, saddlebag lid cut-in hardware, HDFLXPro4K wiring kit, and a 14HDAR fairing amplifier rack are included with every kit.

This is the Level 4 PRO full-stage build — one step up from the 14FLXPCM-4X4, which covers the front fairing only. Both use the same active DSP crossover approach and the same CM65.2X + RR075T front stage; the 4X8 extends that into the saddlebag lids with CM69.2X midbass and rear RR075T tweeters via CHD69TB bridges, powered by the higher-output FLX1400.4PRO.

Who This Is For

The 14FLXPCM-4X8 is for the rider doing a complete ground-up active component build on a 2014–2023 Road Glide® or Street Glide® — front fairing and saddlebag lids, matched drivers, DSP-controlled crossover throughout. It’s the correct kit when the goal is tonal consistency front to rear and no passive network losses anywhere in the system. If the rear saddlebag positions aren’t being upgraded, the 14FLXPCM-4X4 covers the front stage at a lower entry point. For a full-stage build using horn coaxials rather than separate midbass and tweeter drivers, the 14FLXPCH-4X4 is the Level 3 PRO alternative.

What This Is Best For

  • Active DSP crossover front and rear — The FLX1400.4PRO’s onboard DSP handles crossover duties digitally across all positions. There are no passive networks introducing insertion loss or phase anomalies — each CM65.2X, CM69.2X, and RR075T receives a filtered, time-aligned signal from the amplifier. On the road: at highway speed, high-frequency content stays in the tweeters and midbass stays in the cone drivers — no overlap, no cancellation, no thermal load on passive components mounted inside a sealed fairing.
  • CM65.2X carbon matrix midbass — dedicated front fairing driver — As a midbass-only driver, the CM65.2X operates entirely within its designed pass band with no coaxial tweeter loading or shared magnet structure to compromise. The carbon matrix cone is light and rigid, with 2Ω impedance matched to the FLX1400.4PRO output stages. On the road: the fairing mid-range stays controlled and consistent whether you’re filtering at 80Hz below or 3kHz above.
  • CM69.2X 6×9″ carbon matrix midbass — rear saddlebag stage — The rear stage mirrors the front in driver technology: carbon matrix cone, 2Ω impedance, midbass-only construction. Mounted in the saddlebag lids via the CHDLID cut-in kit, the CM69.2X delivers rear fill with material and tonal consistency that matches the front CM65.2X. On the road: front-to-rear character stays coherent across the listening position rather than shifting as you roll off rear level.
  • RR075T ring radiator horn tweeters at all four positions — The 0.75″ titanium ring radiator delivers controlled high-frequency dispersion through its horn waveguide — useful in a fairing where the listener isn’t on-axis. CHD69TB tweeter bridges integrate RR075T units into the 6×9″ saddlebag lid openings without requiring additional enclosures. Front tweeters mount via the CHDRGGTK kidney grille-and-tweeter kit (Road Glide®) or CHDSGGT grilles with pre-cut tweeter apertures (Street Glide®).
  • FLX1400.4PRO — 350W × 4 at 2Ω — Each of the four amplifier channels delivers 350W RMS at 2Ω — 1,400W total system power. Class-D topology keeps the amplifier cool inside the inner fairing. The PRO designation adds the DSP88V processing engine, turning the amplifier into both the power source and the active crossover for the entire system. DSP tuning access is via the C2C USB-C waterproof extension kit (available separately).
  • HDFLXPro4K wiring harness kit — complete signal and power routing — The HDFLXPro4K handles all four speaker channels plus amplifier power routing in a single plug-and-play harness set, purpose-built for 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson FLX amplifier installs. Combined with the CHDLID saddlebag lid cut-in kit and the 14HDAR fairing amplifier rack, every hardware item for a clean factory-finish install is included.

14FLXPCM-4X8 vs 14FLXPCM-4X4 — Full Stage vs Front Stage

The 14FLXPCM-4X4 covers the front fairing only — CM65.2X midbass and RR075T tweeters driven by the FLX700.4PRO DSP, at a lower price point. The 14FLXPCM-4X8 extends active component reproduction into the saddlebag lids via CM69.2X midbass and rear RR075T tweeters, powered by the higher-output FLX1400.4PRO. Choose the 4X4 if your rear positions are already covered or you’re building in stages. Choose the 4X8 for a complete ground-up active component system across all four speaker positions.

The Bottom Line

The 14FLXPCM-4X8 is the top of the Cicada Audio active component range for 2014–2023 Harley Touring — FLX1400.4PRO DSP at 350W × 4, matched CM65.2X and CM69.2X midbass front and rear, RR075T ring radiator horn tweeters at all four positions, and every hardware item required for a complete factory-finish install on a Road Glide® or Street Glide®. What’s Inside the 14FLXPCM-4X8

The front midbass driver is the CM65.2X — a 6.5″ dedicated midbass built around a carbon matrix cone. Carbon matrix is chosen for its stiffness-to-mass ratio: rigid enough to maintain linear excursion at high output levels, light enough not to add unnecessary moving mass to the motor system. At 2Ω impedance it draws maximum current from the FLX1400.4PRO’s output stages. On the road: the cone stays dimensionally stable across Australian riding temperatures — cold morning starts and a sealed fairing in summer heat don’t alter its compliance or output character.

The rear driver is the CM69.2X — the 6×9″ sibling of the CM65.2X, using the same carbon matrix cone material and 2Ω impedance. Mounted in the saddlebag lids via the CHDLID cut-in kit, it handles rear fill as a midbass-only driver with no tweeter integration to compromise its pass band. On the road: rear level and tonal character can be independently adjusted via the FLX1400.4PRO DSP without altering the front stage — useful for pillion passengers or open-road long-haul riding where rear fill requirements change.

The tweeter is the RR075T — a 0.75″ titanium ring radiator horn with the diaphragm operating as an annular radiating surface rather than a conventional dome. This radiating geometry produces a more even frequency response across the operating band and lower distortion at the crossover region. The horn waveguide shapes dispersion for on-axis and off-axis listeners in the fairing environment. On the road: at highway speed with wind noise elevating the ambient floor, the RR075T’s directional control means the high-frequency energy goes where the rider’s ears are rather than scattering into the fairing cavity.

The CHD69TB tweeter bridge integrates the rear RR075T tweeters into the 6×9″ saddlebag lid positions. The bridge mounts across the CM69.2X frame and positions the tweeter at the correct height and angle within the saddlebag lid opening. On the road: rear high-frequency coverage reaches the rider and pillion rather than pointing at the road surface or saddlebag wall.

The amplifier is the FLX1400.4PRO — a 4-channel Class-D unit delivering 350W RMS per channel at 2Ω, for 1,400W total system power. The PRO designation adds the DSP88V digital signal processor, which provides independent crossover, equalisation, time alignment, and level control for each of the four output channels. The DSP is what makes the 14FLXPCM-4X8 a genuine active system rather than a high-power passive one — each driver’s frequency range is defined digitally, and adjustments are made without adding passive components in the signal path. On the road: the DSP can be configured to compensate for the acoustic environment inside the fairing — saddlebag cavity loading, fairing baffle step, and rider position — so the system sounds correct in the real listening environment, not just on a test bench.

Why Active DSP Crossover

A passive crossover network — the capacitors, inductors, and resistors fitted between an amplifier output and a speaker driver — introduces insertion loss, stores and releases energy at crossover frequencies, and has no mechanism for time alignment between drivers. In a high-output system running dedicated midbass drivers at 2Ω, the passive components also have to handle significant current. The FLX1400.4PRO’s DSP replaces all of that with digital filtering applied before the signal reaches the amplifier stages — the crossover happens at line level with no insertion loss, the slopes and frequencies are software-configurable, and time alignment between front and rear positions is handled by delay settings in the DSP. At 350W × 4 driving 2Ω loads, the active approach also means the amplifier is only being asked to reproduce frequencies the driver it’s connected to can actually handle.
