Horn-Loaded Speakers
Horn-loaded speakers use a compression driver mated to a horn — rather than a conventional cone-and-dome design — to deliver higher sensitivity and tighter projection than a standard coaxial or component speaker. On a motorcycle, where the acoustic environment is essentially an open-air wind tunnel, the efficiency advantage of a horn-loaded design translates directly into more usable volume without asking more from the amplifier.
MAA stocks horn-loaded speakers from Cicada Audio, Precision Power and Velocity Speaker Design. The Cicada CHX Pro Horn series pairs a carbon fibre mid-bass cone with a dedicated compression tweeter. Precision Power's PPH range combines a cast-basket woofer with a horn-loaded HF driver. Velocity's horn speakers are built around maximum output sensitivity — among the loudest per watt available for Harley fitment.
Horn-loaded speakers are for riders who want real volume at highway speed and are building the right amp and crossover setup around them. They're not subtle, and they're not interchangeable with a standard speaker grille — check grille compatibility before ordering. Ships Australia-wide and to New Zealand.
