FAQ
What does horn-loaded actually mean?
The driver sits behind a horn that raises its sensitivity, so it converts more of the amplifier's power into sound. In practice that means more volume from the same watts, which helps over wind and traffic.
Are horn-loaded speakers better than coaxials?
They are more efficient and louder for the power, which suits maximum SPL and modest amplifiers. A standard coaxial can be smoother for lower-volume listening. It comes down to how loud you ride and how much amplifier you run.
Do I still need an amplifier?
They benefit from an amplifier like any speaker, but their higher sensitivity means they reach a given volume on less power, so they pair well with compact amps and constrained charging.
What size should I choose?
