Find your head unit. Then follow that page exactly.

Every Soundstream head unit we supply has its own firmware and its own update page. Pick the wrong one and the update will not simply fail — it will corrupt the unit.

Read this before you download anything

Attempting an update with firmware for a different model will corrupt the CPU and brick the unit. Head units damaged by an incorrect firmware update are not covered by warranty. If you are not certain which unit you have, stop and call us on 07 3350 1354 — we will check your order.

Which unit do you have?

Your bike’s year narrows it down. The About screen confirms it.

The reliable checkThe About screen names the model

On the head unit, open the About screen. The version numbers begin with the model name, and that is what decides which page you use:

  • V2 — HDHU.V2
  • SG.V2 — SG.V2
  • WHDSG — WHD.SG
  • WHDRG — WHD.RG
  • WHD9813 — WHD.9813
Each update page shows you where to find the About screen before you commit to anything. Check it there first.

The one exceptionWHD14+ — standard or UNLOC?

The WHD14+ is the one model the About screen will not settle for you. It comes down to whether the WHD.UNLOC OEM integration kit is fitted to your bike.

  • UNLOC kit fitted — use the WHD14+ with UNLOC page
  • No UNLOC kit — use the standard WHD14+ page
The two are not interchangeable, and loading the wrong one corrupts the unit. Don’t guess. Email support@motorcycleaudio.com.au or call 07 3350 1354 and we will check your order.

Fitted to 1998–2013 Street Glide and Ultra models. This is the earlier unit — if the About screen begins SG.V2, use that page instead.

Common groundThree things that decide whether it goes smoothly

  • A blank USB Type-A flash drive that meets the requirements listed on your model’s page. When an update goes wrong, it is usually what is on the drive.
  • Read every step before you begin, and don’t skip any.
  • Confirm the model on the About screen before you download the file, not after.
