What this update fixes

• Updates the CarPlay & Android Auto protocols
• Improves FM tuning & seek sensitivity
• Adds a second Custom EQ
• Corrects SiriusXM equalisation
• Fixes the album artwork & metadata bug on the Now Playing home screen
• Removes the confirmation prompt to open CarPlay or Android Auto after powering down from an alternate mode

Before you start

You need a blank USB Type-A flash drive that meets all of the following:

A flash drive of unknown USB specification will slow data transfer and can corrupt the system processors. If the drive isn't empty, format it first — here are instructions for formatting a flash drive in Windows.

The download is 165MB, so do that part on Wi-Fi before you head out to the bike. The update itself runs for a few minutes on the head unit, and it must not be interrupted — make sure your battery is healthy or the bike is on a tender.

1. Download V2_20260724.zip using the button above.

2. Extract V2_20260724.zip. Copy ISPBOOOT.BIN and the update folder — with st25mcu.bin inside it — to the blank USB Type-A flash drive.

   Don't rename anything. In the current download the folder and the MCU file extract in lower case — update and st25mcu.bin — while the screenshot below, taken on an earlier build, shows the folder in capitals. Either is fine: the flash drive and the head unit both ignore capitalisation. What matters is that the spelling is unchanged and nothing extra has been added to the names.

   The two items must sit in the root of the drive, with nothing else on it:

   

   On a Mac: extracting the zip also creates a hidden __MACOSX folder. Delete it from the flash drive before you go any further, or the V2 may report "No Upgrade File Found!"

3. Connect the flash drive to the USB Type-A input for the V2, usually located in the storage compartment of your bike.

   

4. Turn the bike on to accessory power.

5. After the V2 completes its start-up sequence it should display the main menu. If not, tap the Home icon in the top left corner, or the Back arrow in the top right corner, until the main menu is displayed. Tap the APPs Menu icon, centre on the app shortcut bar.

   

6. Scroll to the second page of apps and tap Setting. The Setting app icon sits between Camera and Rally Mode.

   

7. If it isn't already highlighted, tap the System tab at the top left.

   

8. Scroll down to and tap About. This displays the current software versions of your V2.

   

9. Tap the Update button, centre, below Device ID.

   

10. A screen pops up showing the Current Version for SOC and MCU, alongside the Upgrade Version available for each. Check that:

    • SOC Upgrade Version reads V2-260724-02
    • MCU Upgrade Version reads V2-260508-01

    If both are correct, tap All update.

    
    Version not listed, or "No Upgrade File Found!"? Double-check the file names on the flash drive. There must be a file named ISPBOOOT.BIN — note the three O's — and a folder named update with a file inside it named st25mcu.bin. Capitalisation doesn't matter, but any extra characters do: a name like ISPBOOOT (1).BIN or update copy will cause this error. Also delete any additional or hidden files on the drive, including the __MACOSX folder if you extracted the zip on a Mac. Then repeat steps 3–10.

11. After a moment the MCU Update pop-up appears with a progress bar. When it completes, the screen may stay blank for about 15 seconds. This is normal.

    

12. After several seconds the SOC Update pop-up appears with its own progress bar.

    

13. After a few minutes the progress bar reaches the end and the V2 restarts. Once it has restarted you can remove the flash drive from the USB input.

14. To confirm the update was successful, repeat steps 5–8. You should now see:

    • MCU: V2-260508-01
    • SOC: V2-260724-02
    

If the versions don't match

If the SOC and MCU versions don't match the picture above, double-check that the file names are correct — ISPBOOOT.BIN, and a folder named update with a file inside named st25mcu.bin. Correct the file name(s) and repeat steps 3–14.
