The Cicada Audio Speaker Range
Cicada Audio produces three distinct speaker lines, each with a different performance profile and install complexity. Understanding the difference matters before you choose.
The CX series is Cicada's entry coaxial range — a conventional coaxial driver with neodymium motor structure, designed as a straightforward drop-in upgrade for factory Harley-Davidson speaker positions. Sensitive enough to run off a modest amplifier, robust enough for highway use.
The CXX series steps up in motor strength and excursion capability. The CXX coaxials and mid-bass drivers are designed for systems where the amplifier has real output behind it — they handle power cleanly and reproduce bass frequencies with more authority than the CX in the same position. The CXX57.2 in particular is the correct choice for riders running a 5×7 saddlebag position with a dedicated amplifier channel.
The CHX series is the horn-loaded coaxial line — Cicada's signature product and the one that sets the brand apart from conventional motorcycle audio. Horn loading the tweeter section of a coaxial changes the dispersion pattern and dramatically increases efficiency in the upper midrange and treble. The result is a speaker that maintains vocal clarity and intelligibility at highway speed without the amplifier working hard to compensate for the acoustic losses of wind and fairing geometry. If you've ever heard a properly installed CHX system at speed, the difference from a conventional coaxial is immediately apparent.
The CM series component drivers are Cicada's professional-grade separates — discrete mid-bass woofers and compression tweeters for riders building a true component system with active crossover control via DSP. These are the drivers in MAA's top-tier custom builds.
The FLX Amplifier Range
Cicada's FLX amplifier range is purpose-built for motorcycle installation. The chassis dimensions are designed to fit inside a Harley-Davidson fairing or under a seat — positions where most conventional car audio amplifiers simply don't fit without custom fabrication. All FLX amplifiers run Class D topology with efficiency ratings that keep heat output manageable in confined spaces.
The FLX500.4 and FLX700.4 are the core 4-channel models — 500W and 700W RMS respectively at 2Ω, suited to systems running coaxial or mid-bass drivers in front and rear positions. The FLX700.4PRO and FLX1400.4PRO add integrated DSP, combining amplification and signal processing in a single chassis — the correct choice for any build where space is limited and DSP tuning is non-negotiable. For high-output builds, the FLX1400.4 and FLX2000.4 deliver the power headroom for large-format drivers and multi-position horn systems without requiring an alternator upgrade on most Touring models.
2024+ Harley-Davidson Touring Coverage
Cicada Audio has the most comprehensive kit coverage for 2024+ Harley-Davidson Touring bikes running Skyline OS of any brand in the MAA range. Pre-configured systems are available for the Street Glide, Road Glide, Street Glide Limited, and CVO Street Glide Limited — across coaxial, horn-loaded, and component speaker configurations. All 2024+ kits include the A2B adapter and ZEN-H signal harness required for factory system integration, and are built around the A2B platform from the ground up rather than adapted from older installation approaches.
