The saddlebag wiring harness for 2024+ Harley Touring – amp, lid speakers and woofer on one water-resistant quick-disconnect, with the electric bag lock kept
The Cicada Audio 24HDMFH is the internal wiring harness for a saddlebag audio build on 2024 and newer Harley-Davidson® Touring motorcycles. One harness carries the amplifier, lid speaker and woofer wiring, terminating at a water-resistant quick-disconnect so the bag comes off without unplugging individual cables. Mounting plugs and rings are included, and the harness supports the factory H-D electric bag lock.
This is the harness for audio that lives inside the bag. If your amplifier stays in the fairing and you are only feeding speakers in the bag lids, the part you want is the 24HDRO rear output harness – it carries amplifier output rearward and does nothing else. The 24HDMFH is built for the opposite arrangement, where the saddlebag itself becomes an equipment bay.
Who This Is For
Riders building a saddlebag-mounted system on a 2024+ Touring model – an amplifier in the bag, usually with lid speakers or a woofer alongside it. On our own eight-speaker dual-amplifier builds this ships as standard with the HDBAGAR mounting rack: the rack puts an amplifier in the bag, and that amplifier then needs signal, power and speaker runs that survive the bag being taken off. If nothing in your build mounts inside the bag, you do not need this harness.
What This Is Best For
- Saddlebag-mounted amplifiers – an amp in the bag needs signal in, power in and speaker out, and on a 2024+ Touring bag every one of those runs crosses a joint that moves. Consolidating them into one harness means one disconnect to manage rather than four or five loose leads, each of which is somewhere for a connector to be stressed or left half-seated.
- Bags that come off regularly – the quick-disconnect is water-resistant and designed to be cycled. Repeatedly unplugging individual audio cables is what kills them: pins fatigue, latches break, and moisture finds the one connector that was not fully home. A single designed disconnect point takes that wear instead of the terminations.
- Keeping the factory electric bag lock – 2024+ bags lock electronically, and running audio wiring through the bag with no provision for that circuit is how the lock stops working. This is the difference between an install the owner notices and one they do not.
- Lid speaker and woofer builds – the same harness carries lid speaker wiring and a woofer run, so a 24CHDLID lid cut-in kit or a bag woofer does not need a second loom threaded alongside the first.
- Cicada saddlebag component builds – designed around the 24HDPORT3 right-angle port and the 24HDRING10 10″ mid-bass ring and grille kit, so the port pass-through and the wiring entry are expecting each other rather than competing for the same space.
Do you need the 24HDMFH, or the 24HDRO?
Both serve a 2024+ saddlebag and they are not alternatives – they answer different questions. Ask where the amplifier is. Amplifier in the fairing, speakers in the bag lids: you need speaker-level output run rearward, which is the 24HDRO. Amplifier inside the bag: that amplifier needs signal and power delivered to it and speaker output taken from it, all through a bag that detaches – which is the 24HDMFH. A dual-amplifier build can legitimately use both, because the two bags are doing different jobs.

What's in the 24HDMFH
The 24HDMFH is a single routed harness rather than a bundle of separate leads. Amplifier, lid speaker and woofer wiring are carried together to one termination, and the provision for the H-D electric bag lock is part of the same assembly rather than something worked around during the install. On the road: the wiring inside the bag is one object that moves as one object – there is no individual lead to be pinched by a shifting amplifier or caught as the lid closes.
The termination is a water-resistant quick-disconnect, and it is the component doing the real work. A saddlebag is not a sealed environment, and it is a part of the bike that is deliberately removed. On the road: the bag comes off for the night or for a service without a single audio connector being unplugged, so the terminations are not cycled every time the bag is.
Mounting plugs and rings are included, so the pass-throughs the wiring needs are the ones the harness was designed around. On the road: no improvised grommet where the wiring leaves the bag, which is exactly where water and abrasion arrive first.
Why One Harness Rather Than Individual Runs
An in-bag amplifier build has at least three electrical relationships crossing the bag boundary: low-level signal in, power and ground in, speaker-level out. Run separately, each is a disconnect the installer has to make and the owner has to remember – and the practical result is either that bags stop being removed, or that they get removed with cables still attached. Consolidating them means the boundary is crossed once, at a connector specified for the job.
The bag lock provision matters for the same reason. On 2024+ Touring models the lock is electronic, so it is one more circuit sharing the same physical route. A build that treats it as an obstacle rather than part of the harness is one where the owner discovers the lock has stopped working some time after the audio was signed off.
