LabourLabour and how we quote
Workshop labour is $150 per hour including GST, billed in 15-minute increments.
Every build is quoted individually and fully itemised, with labour, parts and tuning listed separately. You’ll know what the labour component is before we start, not after.
Fixed-price quoted work will not be increased because we underestimated the agreed scope. If previously unknown conditions on the bike require additional work, we’ll stop, explain what we’ve found and get your approval before continuing.
We won’t hand you a surprise invoice.
TuningTuning
We strongly recommend DSP for amplified systems, particularly multi-speaker and custom builds. Where DSP is included — whether built into the amplifier or installed separately — setup and tuning form part of the quoted build scope. Where a system is suitable without DSP, we explain that option and its limitations before the build proceeds.
Where practical, completed systems are operated for an extended period and checked across different music, operating levels and conditions before handover. For applicable workshop builds, final operation is checked using your normal phone and music source where practical, because different devices output differently.
If a DSP configuration or tuning problem is caused by our original setup, we’ll correct it under the workmanship guarantee.
Beyond that, for MAA-built DSP systems there is one complimentary listening adjustment within 90 days of handover, provided the equipment and system configuration have not changed. Live with the bike for a few weeks, then tell us what you’d like more or less of. It covers refining the tune we set — not changing the system itself.
Interstate? The adjustment is still yours. Tuning has to be done with the bike in front of us, so transport stays your arrangement — but get in touch within the 90 days and we’ll hold the adjustment open until you can get here.
Retuning is chargeable where the system itself has changed: different speakers or amplifiers, changed speaker positions, a materially different source or radio, DSP settings altered by someone else, or a request for a different system character rather than correction of a fault.
