6.5" Speakers
6.5" is the most common speaker size across Harley-Davidson Touring platforms — used in the batwing fairing (Street Glide, Electra Glide, Ultra) from 1998 onwards, in Tour-Pak lid positions, and in saddlebag lid cutouts when fitted with aftermarket lids. The prevalence of the 6.5" position means the widest range of aftermarket driver options are built around this size — from entry-level coaxials to high-output horn-loaded component systems.
Not all 6.5" speakers are equal in basket depth, mounting flange diameter, or impedance. A speaker with a deep basket or wide flange may not clear the fairing cavity without a spacer or adaptor ring. Impedance selection — 2Ω or 4Ω — needs to match your amplifier's stable load. MAA lists confirmed fitment details and recommends adaptors where needed for every 6.5" speaker in the range.
