Coaxials span a wide range. Entry-level units improve significantly on factory speakers for modest cost. Mid-tier options add power handling and sensitivity. At the top end, horn-loaded coaxials like the Cicada CHX series use a compression driver rather than a dome tweeter — the result is dramatically higher output and projection that cuts through wind noise at highway speed.
Impedance is the most important spec to get right. Most motorcycle amplifiers run better into 4Ω speakers in standard configuration. If you're bridging an amp channel, 4Ω speakers present 8Ω bridged — the safe zone for most amps. 2Ω options exist for specific builds and amplifier configurations.
