10 AWG speaker wire with quick disconnects. 12-foot pair for high-current subwoofer and heavy-duty speaker runs.
The Cicada Audio QD1012 is a 10 AWG speaker wire kit with quick disconnects – 12-foot red/black pair with male and female connectors pre-installed for fast, secure speaker connections in high-current motorcycle audio applications.
Where 14 AWG is sufficient for most full-range and mid-bass runs, 10 AWG is the right choice for subwoofer wiring and longer runs where resistance on the speaker line matters. The QD1012 provides that heavier gauge with pre-installed quick disconnects at both ends, keeping builds tidy and serviceable. The QD1012 is the standard (non-waterproof) version; for saddlebag and Tour-Pak positions exposed to moisture, the waterproof QDW1012 is the better choice.
Who This Is For
Builders wiring subwoofers or high-current drivers in enclosed positions where waterproof connectors aren't required. For weather-exposed saddlebag and Tour-Pak positions, see the QDW1012. For 14 AWG standard runs, see the QD1412.
What This Is Best For
- Subwoofer and high-current speaker wiring – 10 AWG reduces resistance on longer runs and high-current subwoofer connections where 14 AWG would introduce measurable loss.
- Service-friendly builds – quick disconnects on both ends allow the sub or driver to be removed without cutting; male and female ends pre-installed.
- Clean, high-current routing – 12-foot length handles most saddlebag or Tour-Pak routing paths to the amplifier stage.
What's Inside the QD1012
This is 10 AWG conductor in a red and black pair, cut to 12 feet, a length that covers most saddlebag or Tour-Pak routing paths back to the amplifier stage. The heavier gauge is the reason to choose it over 14 AWG on a subwoofer or another high-current line. On the road: the heavier gauge keeps the loss down on a long subwoofer run, so more of what the amplifier makes is still doing work at the speaker.
Quick disconnects are pre-installed at both ends, male and female. These are the standard terminations, for positions that stay enclosed and out of the weather. On the road: the driver unplugs for service instead of being cut free, so pulling a sub out later does not mean cutting and rejoining the run.
