The Cicada Audio HDLOC-MAX2 is a high-output 2-channel line output converter designed for 2014 and newer Harley-Davidson factory radios – converts speaker-level output to a clean RCA preamp signal for aftermarket amplifiers, using H-D Molex connectors for clean integration. Selectable load (20kΩ @ 60Ω or 20Ω), three turn-on methods (VOX/REM/DC offset), and selectable remote out delay (4/10/20 seconds). Up to 10V maximum output.
Adding an aftermarket amplifier to a 2014+ H-D Touring bike while retaining the factory radio requires a way to extract a usable preamp signal from the radio's speaker-level outputs. What's Inside the HDLOC-MAX2
Two channels of speaker-level input are converted to RCA preamp output inside one housing, with H-D Molex connectors on the factory side so the unit plugs into the harness instead of tapping or splicing at the radio output. Output reaches 10V. On the road: the signal handed to the amplifier is strong enough that the amplifier's own gain can sit lower, which is what keeps the noise floor down.
The load is selectable at 20kΩ @ 60Ω or 20Ω, turn-on can be taken from VOX, REM or DC offset, and the remote output can be delayed by 4, 10 or 20 seconds. On the road: the amplifier's turn-on is sequenced after the radio rather than with it, so start-up stays clean.
