Complete front-and-rear 4-speaker system for 2014–2023 Harley Touring – FLX500.4 amplifier, CX65.2 fairing speakers, CX69.2 saddlebag lids, model-specific fit

The Cicada Audio 14FLXCX-4X4 is a complete, plug-and-play front-and-rear audio upgrade for 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring models. Built around the FLX500.4 4-channel Class-D amplifier, matched pairs of 2Ω CX65.2 fairing speakers and 2Ω CX69.2 saddlebag lid speakers, it delivers a balanced, full-bike increase in volume and clarity across all four speaker positions. Select your model variant – Road Glide or Street Glide – and the kit ships with the correct model-specific amplifier rack and Cicada branded fairing grilles for your platform.

This is the complete 4-speaker system – front fairing and rear saddlebag lids, all driven by a single FLX500.4 amplifier. For riders who want to start with the front stage only and expand later, see the 14FLXCX-4X2.

Who This Is For

Riders on 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson Touring models who want a complete amplified front-and-rear system from day one – no staging, no future sourcing, no compatibility research. The 14FLXCX-4X4 is the correct choice when both the fairing speakers and the saddlebag lids are being upgraded in one install. Every component is pre-matched and model-specific – select Road Glide or Street Glide at checkout and the correct rack and grilles for your fairing ship automatically. The saddlebag lid cut-in kit is universal across both variants. For a front-stage-only starting point, see the 14FLXCX-4X2.

What This Is Best For

  • Complete front-and-rear install in one box – every required component is included: amplifier, front speakers, rear speakers, saddlebag lid cut-in kit, 8 AWG power wiring, front and rear Molex® input harnesses, front and rear Molex output harnesses, model-specific amplifier rack, and branded fairing grilles. One box, one install, no individual component sourcing.
  • All four channels of the FLX500.4 in use – the FLX500.4 drives the front CX65.2 speakers on channels 1 and 2, and the rear CX69.2 speakers on channels 3 and 4. Every channel is working, every speaker is powered, and every seat on the bike gets the same amplified signal.
  • 2Ω throughout – matched front-to-rear – both the CX65.2 and the CX69.2 are 2Ω designs, matched to the FLX500.4 at its rated output across all channels. No impedance compromise, no mismatched load – the amplifier sees the same efficient 2Ω load front and rear.
  • 8 AWG wiring – works with stock electrical – the included HDPG8K 8 AWG power and ground kit is correctly sized for the FLX500.4's current draw across all four channels and works with the factory Harley charging system. No battery upgrade required.
  • Model-specific mounting hardware – the Road Glide variant includes the 14HDAR-RG amplifier rack and CHDRGG branded kidney grilles. The Street Glide variant includes the 14HDAR-SG rack and CHDSGG branded batwing grilles. The saddlebag lid cut-in kit (CHDLID) is identical across both variants.

Road Glide or Street Glide?

The amplifier, speakers, wiring, harnesses, and saddlebag lid kit are identical in both variants. What differs is the model-specific mounting hardware. The Road Glide variant includes the 14HDAR-RG amplifier rack and CHDRGG kidney grilles. The Street Glide variant includes the 14HDAR-SG amplifier rack and CHDSGG batwing grilles. If you're unsure which model you have: the Road Glide has a Sharknose fairing; the Street Glide has a batwing fairing.

This System Requires a Radio Flash

Before installing any amplified audio upgrade on a 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson Touring model, the factory Infotainment radio needs to be flashed. The stock firmware applies heavy EQ curves, dynamic compression, and output limiting designed around the factory speaker system – these remain active after the amplifier is installed and will undercut everything this system does. A radio flash takes approximately 30 minutes (TechnoResearch or authorised dealer). The flash is required – not optional. See Radio Flash vs Line Leveller for the full explanation.

The FLX500.4 Amplifier

The FLX500.4 is a 4-channel Class-D amplifier designed for Harley-Davidson Touring fairing installations. At 125W RMS per channel into 2Ω, it delivers clean, stable power to all four speakers simultaneously – front fairing and rear saddlebag lids – without requiring a battery upgrade or 4 AWG power wiring. On the road: with all four speakers running amplified power, the system maintains balanced output across the bike at highway speed. The front stage stays present in the fairing without drowning the rear, and the rear fill from the saddlebag lids adds depth without muddying the front image.

The CX65.2 Front Speakers

The CX65.2 is the 2Ω variant of Cicada Audio's CX65 6.5″ coaxial speaker – matched to the FLX500.4 front channels at its rated output. The CX series uses an IMPP cone and a balanced tweeter design focused on vocal clarity and fatigue-free listening at sustained volume. On the road: the CX65.2 delivers clean vocals and mid-range presence from the fairing position – the frequencies that carry the most musical information stay intelligible at highway speed.

The CX69.2 Rear Speakers

The CX69.2 is Cicada Audio's 6×9″ 2Ω coaxial speaker, matched to the FLX500.4 rear channels. The larger cone area of the 6×9″ format gives the rear stage added low-mid weight and presence – rear fill that complements the front stage rather than competing with it. On the road: saddlebag lid speakers running amplified power give passengers a proper listening experience and add depth to the overall system that two fairing speakers alone cannot provide.

Why 8 AWG Wiring

The HDPG8K 8 AWG power and ground kit is correctly matched to the FLX500.4's current draw profile across all four channels. Even running four speakers simultaneously, a 500W Class-D amplifier at music-level signal demand draws well within 8 AWG capacity. Running 4 AWG wiring on a system that doesn't require it adds cost and installation complexity without benefit. On the road: no voltage drop, no thermal stress on the wiring, no need to revisit the install. The HDPG8K is sized for this system and does the job cleanly.

Radio Flash – Required Before Installation

The 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson Infotainment radio ships from the factory with firmware tuned around the stock speaker system. That firmware applies significant EQ curves, dynamic compression, bass roll-off as volume climbs, and output limiting that caps usable signal before the amplifier can act on it. None of this is removed when you add an amplifier – the processed, limited signal goes into the FLX500.4's input exactly as it came out of the head unit. Without a flash, the system will not perform as designed. With a flash, the EQ and limiters are removed, and the FLX500.4 operates on clean signal across all four channels. Book the flash before or on the same day as installation. TechnoResearch is the most widely used flash service; any authorised Harley-Davidson dealer can also perform the service.
