The 2026-specific rear output harness for Harley-Davidson® Touring — factory-style connectors, no cutting, no splicing

The Cicada Audio 26HDRO is a rear output speaker wire harness for the 2026 Harley-Davidson® application. It carries amplified rear speaker output from the amplifier to the factory rear speaker wiring using connectors matched to the 2026 loom, so the OEM harness is never cut, depinned, or spliced. This is a fitment-controlled part — the exact motorcycle and factory audio configuration must be confirmed before ordering.

The 26HDRO sits alongside the 24HDRO in the same family, and the two are not interchangeable by default. Both serve rear speaker routing, but each is built to the connector layout and lead configuration of its own model year. A harness that physically mates is not the same thing as a harness that is pinned correctly — order the one that matches the bike in front of you, not the one that fits the plug.

Who This Is For

Installers and builders wiring the rear stage of an aftermarket audio system on a 2026 Harley-Davidson® Touring model, where the amplifier drives the saddlebag or rear speakers directly and the factory rear wiring is to be retained intact. If the bike is a 2024 or 2025 model, the 24HDRO is the correct part. If it is a 2014–2023 Touring model running a Cicada Audio® amplifier on Molex® outputs, the HDRoM is the correct part. If you are unsure which applies, send us the VIN and the factory audio configuration before you order — this is the single most common cause of a returned harness.

What This Is Best For

  • Model-year-correct rear output routing — Harley-Davidson® revises rear-section connector layouts between platform generations, and a rear output harness is only as good as its pin map. The 26HDRO is built to the 2026 rear output specification, so channels land where the amplifier expects them rather than arriving swapped, out of phase, or on the wrong side of the bike.
  • Zero modification to the factory loom — the harness plugs into the existing connectors rather than tapping into them. Nothing is cut, no terminals are removed, and the bike can be returned to standard by unplugging the harness. On a late-model Harley® that matters twice over: for warranty and resale, and because a spliced rear loom is the first thing a dealer technician finds when chasing an unrelated electrical fault.
  • Flexible amplifier placement — rear output has to travel from the amplifier's mounting position to the rear speaker connectors, and where the amp lives depends on the build. Extension leads let a fairing-mounted or under-seat amplifier such as the FLX700.4 or FLX1000.4 reach the rear connectors without a mid-run join buried under the seat, which is the joint that fails first from vibration and moisture.
  • Serviceable rear stage — a purpose-built harness with a connector at each end means the saddlebags and rear bodywork come off for service without unpicking a taped bundle of individual wires. Every join you avoid on a motorcycle is one less corrosion point after a wet Queensland summer.
  • Part of a complete no-cut 2026 wiring set — the rear output harness is one element of the amplifier install. Pair it with the 24HDPA power, ground and ignition harness, the 24HDRTO remote trigger, and the 24HDMFH saddlebag harness for a build with no cut factory wiring anywhere in the system.

26HDRO or 24HDRO — How to Choose

These two harnesses do the same job on different model years, and they should not be substituted for one another on the basis that both are described as rear output harnesses. The 24HDRO is specified for 2024+ Touring applications; the 26HDRO is specified for the 2026 application. Where a model year sits at a platform change, the connector layout and lead configuration are the deciding factors, not the calendar. Confirm the exact motorcycle and its factory audio configuration against the part before installation — and if the bike's build sheet or factory audio package is not clear, contact MAA on 07 3350 1354 or sales@motorcycleaudio.com.au with the VIN before ordering.

The Bottom Line

The 26HDRO is the correct rear output harness for the 2026 Harley-Davidson® application — factory-style connectors, no cutting, no splicing, and a rear stage that can be serviced or reversed without touching the OEM loom. It is a fitment-controlled part, so confirm the motorcycle and factory audio configuration first, then order with confidence.

What the 26HDRO Does

A rear output harness is the link between an amplifier's speaker outputs and the motorcycle's factory rear speaker wiring. It exists so that the amplified signal reaches the rear speakers through the connectors Harley-Davidson® already fitted, rather than through a set of scotch-locks and heat shrink in the middle of the loom. On the road: the rear stage keeps working after two years of vibration, road spray and bag removals, because there is no field-made join in the run to corrode or shake loose.

The 26HDRO uses factory-style connectors on the motorcycle side — the harness mates with the existing plugs rather than replacing or modifying them. Nothing is depinned and no terminal is disturbed, which is what makes the install fully reversible. On the road: if the bike goes in for warranty work or is sold on, the audio system unplugs and the motorcycle is back to factory wiring in minutes.

Why the Model Year Matters

Rear output harnesses look interchangeable because the job they do is simple — carry four speaker wires from an amplifier to a pair of connectors. What is not interchangeable is the pin map. Manufacturers revise rear-section connectors between platform generations, and a harness built for a different year can present the correct physical connector with a different channel order behind it. The failure mode is not always obvious on the first listen: left and right swapped, one channel out of phase against the other, or a rear channel fed from the wrong amplifier output. That is why Cicada Audio® releases the rear output harness by model year rather than as a universal part, and why the 26HDRO should not be assumed to interchange with the 24HDRO simply because both serve the rear speakers.

Where It Sits in the Build

On a 2026 Harley-Davidson® amplifier install, the signal path runs from the factory head unit or A2B interface, into the amplifier, and back out to the speakers. The 26HDRO handles the last leg of that path for the rear channels. Upstream of it, an A2B build takes signal through an interface such as the NAV-TV ZEN-H kit or the 24HDNAVTVA2B direct connect harness. Power, ground and ignition come from the 24HDPA, and switched turn-on from the 24HDRTO. Confirm which of these upstream parts apply to the 2026 platform at the same time you confirm the harness — the same fitment check covers them all.
