250W mid-bass, 101 dB ring radiator horn tweeter. The passive 6×9 component kit for 2024+ Harley Touring saddlebag builds.
The Cicada Audio 24CXK69.2 is a complete 6×9-inch 2Ω passive component speaker kit – 250W RMS mid-bass, 50W RMS ring radiator horn tweeter with field-replaceable diaphragm, Carbon Matrix Composite™ (CMC™) cone, OFC copper shorting ring, Black Coat™ OFC 2.0-inch mid-bass voice coil, 12 dB external passive crossover at 7 kHz, and 2024+ Touring-specific mounting hardware. Designed for 2024+ H-D Touring saddlebag positions. Sold as a complete pair kit.
The 24CXK69.2 is the passive component kit for 6×9-inch saddlebag positions on 2024+ Harley-Davidson® Touring models – mid-bass, tweeter, crossover, and 2024+ platform-specific mounting hardware, all included. Where the CXK69.2 fits 2014–2023 Touring saddlebag positions, the 24CXK69.2 provides the same drivers and crossover with mounting hardware designed for the 2024+ Touring saddlebag enclosure. The same CMC™ 6×9 mid-bass, the same 101 dB ring radiator horn tweeter with field-replaceable diaphragm, and the same 12 dB passive crossover at 7 kHz – with hardware matched to the 2024+ platform.
Who This Speaker Is For
For riders on 2024+ Street Glide, Road Glide, and other H-D Touring models who want a passive component rear stage in the saddlebag lid position without building an active DSP system. The 24CXK69.2 is the 2Ω version, correct for dedicated 2Ω-rated amplifiers in stereo. For bridged configurations or 4Ω builds, the 24CXK69.4 is the 4Ω variant. For 2014–2023 Touring models, see the CXK69.2.
What This Is Best For
- Passive component rear stage on 2024+ Harley Touring saddlebag positions – the mid-bass installs in the 2024+ saddlebag lid 6×9 opening; the tweeter mounts with the included 2024+ platform-specific bracket set. One amplifier channel per side drives the complete system through the passive crossover.
- Complete passive front + rear component system on a 2024+ Touring build – pairs with a 24CXK65.2SG (Street Glide) or 24CXK65.2RG (Road Glide) front component stage for a full passive front + rear system from a single 4-channel amplifier.
- Upgrading from a coaxial to a component rear stage on a 2024+ build – riders who want better separation between mid-bass and high frequencies from the saddlebag lid position, with the field-replaceable diaphragm for long-term serviceability in the saddlebag environment.
- Rear stage with field-serviceable tweeter – the field-replaceable diaphragm and aluminium die-cast backplate make the tweeter serviceable in the field without replacing the full driver assembly.
2Ω vs 4Ω – Choosing the Right Version
The 24CXK69.2 is a 2Ω component kit. The system load is driven by the 2Ω mid-bass driver – choose the 2Ω version when running a dedicated 2Ω-rated amplifier in stereo. The tweeter in this kit is 4Ω but operates on its own crossover branch. For bridged amplifier configurations requiring a 4Ω minimum load, the 24CXK69.4 (4Ω) is the correct choice.
What's Inside the 24CXK69.2
The mid-bass driver and tweeter are identical in construction to the CXK69.2 – the 24CXK69.2 is differentiated by the 2024+ Touring-specific mounting hardware included in the kit, not by differences in the drivers or crossover.
The mid-bass uses a Carbon Matrix Composite™ (CMC™) cone – lightweight, rigid, and thermally stable under sustained high-output operation. The 2.0-inch / 51mm Black Coat™ OFC copper voice coil handles sustained 250W RMS. The OFC copper shorting ring in the motor gap reduces inductance modulation distortion and extends upper mid-bass response. The mid-bass covers from 70 Hz to the 7 kHz crossover point – the full vocal and instrument body range from the saddlebag lid position. On the road: defined mid-bass and full midrange from the 2024+ saddlebag position, with the ring radiator horn tweeter handling everything above 7 kHz.
The tweeter is a 1.0-inch shallow ring radiator in a horn waveguide at 101 dB with a field-replaceable diaphragm and aluminium die-cast backplate. Ring radiators maintain wider dispersion at high frequencies than conventional domes – relevant when the listener's position changes with road conditions. The 12 dB passive crossover at 7 kHz is external, custom-tooled, vented, and encased. The kit includes 2024+ Harley Touring saddlebag-specific mounting hardware (tweeter bracket set and mounting hardware). A system-level high-pass on the amplifier at 80–120 Hz is still recommended to protect the mid-bass driver from sub-bass content.
Sensitivity and Frequency Coverage
The 24CXK69.2 delivers the same acoustic performance as the CXK69.2 – 94 dB mid-bass, 101 dB tweeter, 70 Hz – 20 kHz combined system response with the passive crossover managing the transition at 7 kHz. The 2024+ Touring-specific mounting hardware is the functional difference between the two kits; the acoustic performance is identical.
Why 2Ω – Amplifier Pairing
At 2Ω, the 24CXK69.2 extracts full rated output from any 2Ω-stable motorcycle amplifier. The FLX1400.4 and FLX2000.4 publish their rated output at 2Ω stereo. Paired with a 24CXK65.2SG or 24CXK65.2RG front stage, a 4-channel amplifier drives the complete front + rear passive component system. For bridged configurations, the 24CXK69.4 satisfies the 4Ω minimum load requirement.
