10" mid-bass at 4Ω for bridged channels – 300W RMS, 91dB and a CMC™ cone for Harley-Davidson® saddlebags
The Cicada Audio CMW10.S4 is a 10-inch 4Ω mid-bass woofer rated at 300W RMS (600W peak), with 91dB sensitivity and 50Hz–6kHz response. It uses a Carbon Matrix Composite™ cone, 51mm (2.0") edge-wound aluminium coil on a TIL former, Y35 ferrite motor, NBR half-roll surround and a vented, powder-coated steel basket. Sold individually.
The 4Ω coil is what sets it apart from the CMW10.S2. It lets two amp channels be bridged into each woofer, and it draws less current in stereo. Against Cicada's CMB10.S4, the CMW10.S4 trades peak power for efficiency and upper range: 300W instead of 800W, but 91dB instead of 87.2dB, with response reaching 6kHz.
Who This Is For
Riders building a saddlebag mid-bass pair from bridged amplifier channels, which is a common way to get more power into two woofers from a four-channel amp. It also suits builders keeping the whole system at 4Ω for thermal margin. If your amp will run the woofers in stereo at 2Ω, the CMW10.S2 is the better match. For an 800W-class build, step up to the CMB10.S4.
What This Is Best For
- Bridged mid-bass on a compact amp – the FLX700.4 bridges to 350W × 2 into 4Ω, close to this driver's 300W rating once the gain is set sensibly. Its DSP twin, the FLX700.4PRO, adds the low-pass and subsonic filtering a mid-bass stage wants.
- All-4Ω systems – the FLX2000.4 makes 331W × 4 into 4Ω in stereo. That's enough to run a CMW10.S4 pair alongside 4Ω speakers elsewhere on the bike from one amp.
- More bass per watt – 91dB sensitivity makes this driver efficient for its class. Where a system shares a charging system with lights, heated gear and other amps, efficiency is the cheapest output there is.
- Blending with the lids and fairing – response to 6kHz keeps it clean through and above the crossover point, so the transition to the speakers above is seamless.
Choosing 4Ω: When It Matters
Pick the CMW10.S4 if you'll bridge. A bridged output works each channel into half the speaker's impedance, so a 4Ω woofer keeps a 2Ω-stable amp within its rating. Also pick it if you want the whole system at 4Ω. On a mono amp, two CMW10.S4 in parallel present 2Ω. Check the amp's 2Ω output against 300W per driver: the WX1000.1, for example, would deliver 500W each, so the gain would need to be limited. For stereo channels at 2Ω, the CMW10.S2 is the natural fit.
The Bottom Line
The CMW10.S4 is 10" saddlebag mid-bass for bridged and all-4Ω builds: efficient, weather-resistant and wide-ranging, without needing an 800W amplifier. Fit it with Cicada's ring kit for your year, or let the System Builder match and price the full system.

What's Inside the CMW10.S4
The Y35 ferrite motor drives a 51mm (2.0") edge-wound aluminium voice coil on a TIL composite former, sealed in Black Coat™ thermoset resin. The light aluminium winding and dense edge-wound layout are why the driver reaches 91dB. On the road: strong mid-bass without having to lean on the gain.
The Carbon Matrix Composite™ cone stays rigid across its 10" span on an NBR half-roll surround that controls travel and handles the weather. On the road: bass lines stay tight at highway volume.
Vortex Flow Venting™ in the powder-coated stamped steel basket pumps air over the coil as the cone moves, and the Rain or Shine™ build resists moisture and UV. On the road: consistent output from a woofer that lives in a sun-baked saddlebag.
Why 4Ω
A 4Ω load halves the current a channel has to deliver compared with 2Ω. That means a cooler amplifier and less draw on the charging system. It is also the load that makes bridging safe on a 2Ω-stable amp, since a bridged pair works each channel into half the speaker's impedance.
Frequency Coverage and Tuning
The CMW10.S4 covers 50Hz to 6kHz (±3dB), so the low-pass can be set to suit the speakers above rather than the woofer's limits. Use a high-pass (subsonic) filter just below the enclosure's useful low-frequency limit to keep excursion under control. No crossover is included.
Mounting
Mounting depth is 104mm (4.1") and mounting diameter is 230mm (9.0"). Both suit Cicada's 14HDRING10 and 24HDRING10 saddlebag ring kits.
