A 10" 2Ω mid-bass woofer for Harley-Davidson® saddlebag builds – 300W RMS and 91dB from a Carbon Matrix Composite™ cone
The Cicada Audio CMW10.S2 is a 10-inch 2Ω mid-bass woofer rated at 300W RMS (600W peak), with 91dB sensitivity and a 50Hz–6kHz response. It pairs a Carbon Matrix Composite™ cone with a 51mm (2.0") edge-wound aluminium voice coil, a Y35 ferrite motor, an NBR half-roll surround and a powder-coated stamped steel basket with Vortex Flow Venting™. Sold individually.
The CMW10 sits below Cicada's high-power CMB10.S4 in the 10" range. The CMB10 is built for 800W and serious SPL. The CMW10 is built for efficiency and range: 91dB against the CMB10's 87.2dB, and an upper response that reaches 6kHz. It makes more sound per watt from a moderate amplifier, and it can be crossed higher so it blends with the speakers above it. This is the 2Ω version; the CMW10.S4 is the 4Ω version for bridged channels.
Who This Is For
Riders adding a 10" mid-bass stage to the saddlebags who want real weight in the lower range without committing to an 800W amplifier and the wiring that goes with it. The 2Ω coil suits a four-channel amp running a mid-bass pair in stereo at 2Ω, or a mono amp with two drivers wired in series. If you're building for maximum output and have the power to back it, the CMB10.S4 is the step up. If the bags only have room for an 8", see the CMW8.S2.
What This Is Best For
- Mid-bass from a four-channel amp – at 2Ω in stereo, the WX1200.4PRO gives 300W per channel, an exact match for this driver's rating. The WX900.4 gives 225W with margin in hand.
- A pair on a mono amp – wire two CMW10.S2 in series and the pair presents 4Ω. The WX1000.1 then delivers 500W, or 250W per driver, safely inside the 300W rating. Never wire two in parallel: that's 1Ω.
- Efficiency where power is limited – 91dB means each watt goes further. That matters on a charging system that is already running a four-channel amp for the fairing and bags.
- A clean hand-off to the speakers above – with response to 6kHz, the CMW10.S2 stays smooth through the crossover region rather than falling away just above it. You can set the low-pass where it suits your fairing and lid speakers, not where the woofer runs out.
Wiring the CMW10.S2 – Stereo, Series or Not at All
One CMW10.S2 per channel on a 2Ω-stable amp in stereo is the simplest setup. Two on one mono channel must be wired in series, giving 4Ω. Wired in parallel they drop to 1Ω, which is below most motorcycle amps' rating. Never bridge a 2Ω driver, because each channel of a bridged pair sees half the load. If your plan involves bridging, choose the CMW10.S4.
The Bottom Line
The CMW10.S2 brings 10" mid-bass to a Harley saddlebag build without needing a big amp: 300W RMS, 91dB, and a response wide enough to blend with the rest of the system. Pair it with Cicada's 10" ring kit for your year, or tell the System Builder your model and year and we'll match the whole system and price it.

What's Inside the CMW10.S2
The cone is Carbon Matrix Composite™ (CMC™), light enough to start and stop quickly and stiff enough to stay in shape across a 10" span under power. On the road: bass notes land with a defined edge rather than a boom, even with the throttle open.
The 51mm (2.0") voice coil is edge-wound aluminium on a lightweight TIL composite former, sealed in Black Coat™ high-temperature thermoset resin. Edge-wound flat wire packs more conductor into the gap, and aluminium keeps moving mass low, which is part of how this driver reaches 91dB. On the road: more output for the same amplifier setting.
A Y35 ferrite motor provides a consistent magnetic field that is stable with temperature. The Vortex Flow Venting™ basket moves air across the coil as the cone travels. On the road: summer heat in a black saddlebag doesn't knock the output back.
An NBR half-roll surround controls excursion and resists weather. The powder-coated stamped steel basket keeps the assembly rigid and protected. The Rain or Shine™ construction resists humidity, rain and UV. On the road: built for a position that gets wet and sits in the sun.
Why 2Ω
A 2Ω driver lets a 2Ω-stable amplifier deliver its highest stereo rating, which is where most four-channel motorcycle amps make their best power. It also gives a clean 4Ω load when two are wired in series on a mono amp. The trade-off is that it must never be bridged or paralleled below the amp's minimum load.
Frequency Coverage and Tuning
Response runs 50Hz to 6kHz (±3dB). In most saddlebag systems the CMW10.S2 covers the upper bass and lower midrange, crossed to the speakers above with a low-pass filter. Set a high-pass (subsonic) filter just below the lowest frequency your enclosure can usefully reproduce, so the cone isn't driven into excursion it can't turn into sound. No crossover is included; the split is set at the amplifier or DSP.
Mounting
Mounting depth is 104mm (4.1") and mounting diameter is 230mm (9.0"). Both suit Cicada's 14HDRING10 and 24HDRING10 saddlebag ring kits.
