The HD14.SBS is Precision Power's saddlebag lid cut-in kit for 2014+ Harley-Davidson® Touring hard-shell saddlebags. A precision moulded cutting template, speaker mounting adapters, gloss black grilles, and a waterproof quick-disconnect wiring harness are in the box – everything needed to install 6×9" speakers in the OEM saddlebag lids without replacing them. Speakers sold separately. No repainting, no new lids, no permanent structural modification to the bags.
The factory saddlebag lids on 2014+ Harley Touring models are not pre-cut for speakers. Adding a rear stage means cutting into the existing lids – or buying pre-cut replacements. The HD14.SBS is the third option: a complete cut-in kit that turns the factory lid into a proper speaker mounting location using a precision template, positions the driver correctly with mounting adapters, and finishes the install with gloss black grilles and waterproof wiring. Not compatible with electric-lock saddlebags: The HD14.SBS is designed for standard 2014+ hard-shell saddlebag lids. Models equipped with electric-lock saddlebags are not compatible – the lock mechanism occupies the space required for the speaker installation. Confirm your bag type before ordering.
Cutting is not reversible: Professional installation is recommended for the cutting process. The template produces a clean, repeatable result – but a cut saddlebag lid cannot be uncut. What's In The Kit
The precision cut-in template is a moulded cutting guide that aligns to the 2014+ Harley Touring saddlebag lid contours. It positions the 6×9" speaker opening correctly on the lid surface – accounting for lid curvature, internal clearance, and the mounting depth required by standard 6×9" saddlebag drivers. On the road: the cut looks factory – a clean, correctly-positioned opening with no evidence of guesswork or hand-measurement. The template isn't a reference; it is the cut.
The speaker mounting adapters bridge the gap between the 6×9" driver basket and the cut lid surface, providing the stand-off depth and mounting interface that positions the speaker correctly within the opening. The adapter locks the driver in place and eliminates movement between the basket and the lid. On the road: the speaker sits at the correct depth with no rocking, rattling, or movement through road vibration and temperature cycling – the adapter holds the fit the same way on month one as it does in year three.
The gloss black speaker grilles cover the speaker opening with a finished, purpose-built appearance. The grille pattern is acoustically transparent – it does not restrict the driver's output. Construction is specified for the outdoor motorcycle environment: road vibration, UV, and rain cycling do not distort or crack the grille over time. On the road: two seasons of saddlebag vibration and weather, and the grilles hold their finish. A lid that still looks as clean as install day.
The waterproof quick-disconnect wiring harness connects the speaker terminals to the saddlebag wiring using waterproof quick-disconnect plugs. The design allows the saddlebag to be removed and reinstalled without reaching into the bag or disconnecting terminals by hand. Connections are weatherproof – rain and washdowns do not affect the electrical interface at the speaker. On the road: bag off – single quick-disconnect. Bag back on – single connect. No tools, no loose wires, no risk of pulling a terminal loose.
