| Year Range | 2024+, 2014-2023 |
| Location | Saddlebags |
The best coaxial the saddlebag position supports.
The CXX69.2 is Cicada's Pro-series 6×9" saddlebag coaxial — a 2Ω full-range driver with 200W RMS, 93 dB sensitivity, Kevlar cone, N45H neodymium motor, V8™ Dispersion Guide for 360° tweeter projection, and Rain or Shine™ weatherproof construction. A significant step up from the CX69 range in power capacity, motor specification, and cone material. Sold in pairs.
The CX69.2 is a properly engineered saddlebag speaker — IMPP cone, NBR surround, N35 motor, 125W RMS. The CXX69.2 is the step above it in every meaningful specification. Kevlar replaces IMPP. N45H replaces N35. V8™ Dispersion Guide replaces DPSH®. Polycarbonate basket replaces polymer frame. Power handling doubles — 200W RMS versus 125W RMS. For riders who want the most capable coaxial the saddlebag position allows, this is where it ends.
Who This Speaker Is For
For riders running a dedicated 2Ω-rated amplifier who want the top of the coaxial range in the saddlebag position. This is not a speaker for head unit power — pair it with a FLX500.4 or FLX700.4 to put the 200W RMS to work. For bridged-amp configurations or conservative system designs, the CXX69.4 is the 4Ω variant.
What This Is Best For
- The top of the coaxial range in the amplified saddlebag stage — run from a 2Ω-rated amplifier such as the FLX500.4 or FLX700.4, the CXX69.2 delivers 200W RMS into a Kevlar-coned, N45H-motored coaxial purpose-built for the saddlebag position. Nothing coaxial does more from this location.
- Upgrading from the CX69.2 — same saddlebag fitment, same 2Ω impedance, Kevlar cone and 200W RMS in place of IMPP and 125W. Direct swap, significantly higher specification.
- Full Pro-series front-and-rear builds — pairing the CXX65.2 in the fairing with the CXX69.2 in the saddlebags gives a complete Cicada Pro coaxial stage across the bike. 93 dB sensitivity and 200W RMS in the rear to match the front.
- Builds where the saddlebag carries bass responsibility — the 50 Hz lower extension and 6×9" cone area give the CXX69.2 genuine mid-bass presence. For systems without a dedicated subwoofer, the rear stage handles the low-end responsibility.
Requires an External Amplifier
The CXX69.2 is a 2Ω speaker rated at 200W RMS, designed for use with a dedicated motorcycle amplifier — not head unit internal power. Most quality Harley-specific amplifiers including the Cicada FLX500.4 and FLX700.4 are 2Ω stable. Choose the CXX69.4 (4Ω) for bridged amplifier configurations or when a more conservative system with better amplifier thermal margin is the priority.
The Bottom Line
The top of the coaxial range in the saddlebag position — 200W RMS, Kevlar cone, N45H neodymium motor, V8™ 360° tweeter projection, polycarbonate basket, and Rain or Shine™ weatherproof construction in a 6×9" package purpose-built for Harley-Davidson saddlebag positions. Requires a dedicated 2Ω-rated external amplifier.
Ready to build your rear stage? Add to cart above. For bridged-amp configurations or a more conservative build, the CXX69.4 is the 4Ω variant.
What's Inside the CXX69.2
The cone is Kevlar — chosen for low mass, high stiffness, and moisture resistance. In the enclosed saddlebag environment where temperatures climb through Australian summer riding conditions, a Kevlar cone's dimensional stability across temperature extremes is a genuine engineering advantage. At 200W RMS, a stiffer cone also means better control at high excursion — less distortion as output increases, and more linear behaviour through the midrange. On the road: the rear stage stays clean and controlled at volume rather than compressing and hardening as power increases.
The N45H neodymium motor delivers a stronger magnetic field than the N35 in the CX69 range — more flux density in the gap, better voice coil control at the excursion levels 200W RMS produces. The voice coil is 2.0-inch copper wound, sized for the thermal demands of sustained high-power drive. The H-grade temperature rating ensures the magnet holds its properties through sustained load at highway speed. On the road: consistent output across a full day of riding — no thermal rolloff as the speaker heats up over distance.
The tweeter is a 1.2-inch PEI dome loaded by the V8™ Dispersion Guide for 360° tweeter projection. From the saddlebag position, the tweeter is not pointing directly at the rider — the V8™ horn geometry distributes high-frequency energy across the full coverage area rather than a narrow directional beam, keeping treble presence consistent across the listening window. On the road: usable treble detail from the rear at any riding position or road speed.
The custom-tooled polycarbonate basket is UV-stabilised and thermally resistant, maintaining driver alignment under the vibration and thermal conditions of a saddlebag at speed. The built-in 6dB crossover protects the tweeter from low-frequency excursion without requiring an external network.
Sensitivity and Frequency Coverage
At 93 dB (1W/1m), the CXX69.2 delivers strong output per watt for a 6×9-inch coaxial. Combined with 200W RMS power capacity, a properly matched amplifier has the headroom to drive the rear stage to levels that cut through highway wind and road noise without the amplifier running out of margin. The 200W RMS rating means there is real power available before clipping — not just a peak figure.
Frequency response runs 50 Hz – 20 kHz (±3 dB). The 6×9-inch cone area moves more air at lower frequencies than a 6.5-inch driver, and the 50 Hz lower extension gives genuine mid-bass presence from the saddlebag. For builds also running a front stage, the CXX65.2 in the fairing handles the upper frequencies while the CXX69.2 reinforces the low end.
Why 2Ω — Power and Output
Dedicated motorcycle amplifiers — including the Cicada FLX500.4 and FLX700.4 — publish their rated output at 2Ω. The CXX69.2 at 2Ω is the correct impedance match for extracting full rated output from the amplifier into a speaker built to handle it. An amplifier producing 100W RMS × 4 at 4Ω might produce 175W RMS × 4 at 2Ω from the same hardware — on a motorcycle at highway speed, that difference in headroom is audible.
The trade-off is current demand — a 2Ω load asks more from the amplifier in terms of heat and stress. The CXX69.2 should be paired with an amplifier genuinely rated for 2Ω and an install done properly. For bridged configurations where a 4Ω minimum load is required, or when amplifier thermal margin is the priority, the CXX69.4 is the correct choice.
