6.5" mid-bass speaker pair for Harley-Davidson Touring installs — 100W RMS, N45H Neodymium motor, Kevlar® cone, 2Ω
The Cicada Audio CXXM65.2 is a 6.5-inch mid-bass speaker pair built for Harley Touring installs — saddlebag lids, Tour-Pak™ enclosures, or lower fairing positions. It fits a standard 6.5" speaker mount location directly, with no custom cutting required. Sold as a matched pair with 100W RMS power handling each, a Kevlar® cone, N45H Neodymium motor, OFC copper voice coils, and a custom-tooled Polycarbonate frame, the CXXM65.2 is a Rain or Shine™-rated, all-weather design built to handle direct sun and moisture exposure in an external mounting position. Grilles and mounting hardware are included.
A 4Ω version of this driver, the CXXM65.4, is also available. The two variants are otherwise identical — same cone, motor, frame, and power handling — the only difference is voice coil impedance. This 2Ω version is the correct choice if you're running the pair directly off two amplifier channels rated to handle a 2Ω load, where bridging isn't required or isn't an option; choose the CXXM65.4 if your amplifier channel will be bridged to drive the pair.
Who This Is For
The CXXM65.2 is for Harley-Davidson Touring riders fitting a 6.5" mid-bass pair into a standard saddlebag lid, Tour-Pak™ enclosure, or lower fairing speaker mount — no custom cutting or adaptor plate needed, it drops straight into a standard 6.5" location. The 2Ω impedance is the right choice when your amplifier's channels are rated for a 2Ω load and you want to drive the pair directly without bridging — the Cicada FLX500.4 (2Ω-stable per channel) is a sensible starting point, running one channel per speaker. If your amp setup calls for bridging two channels into each speaker instead, the CXXM65.4 is the correct variant. If your enclosure has room for a larger driver and more output, the 8" CXXM8.2 (2Ω) or CXXM8.4 (4Ω) is the step up.
What This Is Best For
- Direct fit to a standard 6.5" speaker mount — saddlebag lid, Tour-Pak™, or lower fairing — At 138mm (5.43") mounting diameter and 57mm (2.26") mounting depth, the CXXM65.2 matches a standard 6.5" speaker mount location, so it drops straight into saddlebag lids, Tour-Pak™ enclosures, and lower fairing positions without custom cutting. On the road: a straightforward swap into an existing 6.5" speaker location, with no fabrication required before fitting.
- 2Ω impedance for direct, non-bridged amp connections — Running the pair directly off two amplifier channels rated for a 2Ω load avoids the impedance halving that comes with bridging, simplifying wiring and keeping each channel within its rated load. On the road: a 4-channel amp like the FLX500.4 drives both speakers cleanly off two channels with no bridging required, leaving the remaining channels free for other speakers in the system.
- High sensitivity (92 dB) for clean output on modest amplifier power — At 92 dB (1W/1M), the CXXM65.2 needs comparatively little amplifier power to reach a useful output level. On the road: even a modest 2Ω-rated channel delivers genuine mid-bass output without strain.
- Kevlar® cone for moisture and heat resistance — Kevlar® is lightweight, exceptionally strong, and resistant to both high temperature and moisture absorption — properties that matter directly for a driver mounted in an external saddlebag, Tour-Pak™, or lower fairing position exposed to weather. On the road: the cone holds its shape and stiffness through Australian summer heat and wet-weather riding without the softening or moisture swelling that degrades output in lesser cone materials over time.
- N45H Neodymium motor for high efficiency at low weight — The N45H Neodymium magnet delivers strong magnetic flux density in a compact, lightweight motor structure, contributing directly to the CXXM65.2's high sensitivity rating. For Tour-Pak™ installs where every gram of added weight matters, a lighter motor assembly is a real advantage over a ferrite equivalent. On the road: less unsprung mass added to a Tour-Pak™ build, with no compromise to output or efficiency.
- Rain or Shine™ all-weather design with UV-protected surfaces — Every exposed surface is UV protected against fading and degradation from direct sun exposure, and the Rain or Shine™ design rating reflects Cicada's testing for external motorcycle mounting positions. On the road: a saddlebag lid, Tour-Pak™, or lower fairing-mounted speaker holds its finish and seal integrity ride after ride, regardless of weather.
2Ω or 4Ω — confirm your amp configuration before ordering
The CXXM65.2 is wired for a 2Ω load — only run it on amplifier channels rated 2Ω-stable, without bridging. If your amp setup requires bridging two channels into each speaker, order the 4Ω CXXM65.4 instead. Both variants fit a standard 6.5" speaker mount location directly — no custom cutting or adaptor plate required in saddlebag lid, Tour-Pak™, or lower fairing positions. Contact MAA if you need help confirming your amp configuration before ordering.

The Bottom Line
The CXXM65.2 is a high-sensitivity 6.5" mid-bass pair wired for direct, non-bridged 2Ω amplifier connections — it drops straight into a standard saddlebag lid, Tour-Pak™, or lower fairing speaker mount, no custom cutting required. Run the pair off a Cicada FLX500.4 (2Ω-stable per channel) as a sensible starting point. Need a bridged 4Ω setup instead? The CXXM65.4 is the matching variant. If your build has room for more output, the 8" CXXM8.2 is the step up. Contact MAA to confirm your amp configuration before ordering.
The CXXM65.2 pairs a Kevlar® cone with an N45H Neodymium motor and OFC copper voice coils in a custom-tooled Polycarbonate frame — a lightweight, high-sensitivity mid-bass architecture built for external motorcycle mounting positions exposed to weather and vibration, wired for a 2Ω load.
Kevlar® Cone
The CXXM65.2 uses a Kevlar® cone — a material chosen for its combination of low mass, exceptional tensile strength, and resistance to both high temperature and moisture absorption. Unlike paper or untreated composite cones, Kevlar® doesn't soften or swell when exposed to humidity, and it holds its shape under sustained excursion at high output. On the road: the cone maintains its stiffness and linear behaviour through wet-weather riding and direct sun exposure in an external saddlebag, Tour-Pak™, or lower fairing position, without the gradual performance loss that moisture-absorbing cone materials suffer over time.
N45H Neodymium Motor
The N45H Neodymium magnet delivers high magnetic flux density in a compact, lightweight motor assembly — directly contributing to the CXXM65.2's 92 dB sensitivity rating. A higher-efficiency motor means the speaker reaches a given output level with less amplifier power than a comparable ferrite design, and the reduced mass matters for Tour-Pak™ installs where every gram of added weight affects handling. On the road: a Tour-Pak™-mounted pair adds less unsprung weight than a ferrite-motor equivalent, with no compromise to output level or efficiency.
OFC Copper Voice Coils
The voice coils use Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) winding — a higher-purity conductor than standard copper alloys, offering lower electrical resistance and therefore less resistive heating at a given power level. Lower heat generation extends the coil's sustainable power handling and reduces the risk of thermal compression during sustained output. On the road: the voice coils run cooler at sustained volume, helping the CXXM65.2 hold its output level through extended highway riding rather than gradually compressing as the coil heats.
Custom-Tooled Polycarbonate Frame
The custom-tooled Polycarbonate frame is engineered to withstand extreme heat without softening or warping — a meaningful design choice for a speaker that may be mounted close to dark-coloured saddlebag, Tour-Pak™, or lower fairing surfaces under direct Australian sun. Polycarbonate's impact resistance also protects the frame from the vibration and mechanical stress of sustained highway riding. On the road: the frame holds its geometry and mounting integrity through a hot parked afternoon in direct sun and the continuous vibration of a long touring day.
Why 2Ω — and Why It Suits This Application
The CXXM65.2's 2Ω voice coil is built for systems where the amplifier's channels are already rated to handle a 2Ω load and bridging isn't required. Running the pair directly off two channels — one per speaker — keeps the wiring simple and each channel within its rated impedance, without the current demands and heat that come with bridging two channels into a single 2Ω load. If your amp setup is built around bridged channels instead, the 4Ω CXXM65.4 is the matching variant — same driver, same performance, wired for the opposite amp configuration.
