5,000 watts. The amp for builds where nothing else is enough.
The Cicada Audio BFA5000.1 is an extreme-output mono Class-D amplifier delivering 5,000W RMS at 2Ω and 3,000W RMS at 4Ω — the highest-output Cicada mono amplifier, purpose-built for competition-level subwoofer installs and show builds. LPF covers 20–250 Hz with a subsonic filter at 20–50 Hz. Requires 1/0 AWG power wiring and a purpose-built electrical system capable of sustaining 200A at music-level draw.
The FLX2500.1 is the high-output mono amp for serious builds. The BFA5000.1 is what comes after that — for builds where 2,500W is an intermediate figure rather than a ceiling, and where the full electrical infrastructure of a competition-grade install is either already in place or part of the design from the start. At 200A music-level draw and 450A maximum, this amplifier does not leave room for a standard motorcycle charging setup. It requires a purpose-built electrical system.
Who This Is For
For competition and show-level builds where maximum subwoofer output is the primary design objective and electrical infrastructure is purpose-built for the audio system. The BFA5000.1 is the step up from the FLX2500.1 for builds that have already exceeded what 2,500W can do — and where 1/0 AWG wiring, a high-capacity lithium battery, and a charging system rated for sustained high-current draw are already part of the build.
What This Is Best For
- Competition and show-level subwoofer installs — 5,000W at 2Ω is the output level for drivers designed to operate at competition SPL. For builds entered in sound-off events or built to demonstrate maximum system output, the BFA5000.1 is the correct amp.
- Custom high-excursion subwoofer enclosures — large-format or custom-built enclosures housing high-excursion subwoofer drivers require the sustained high-current mono output the BFA5000.1 provides. This is the amplifier for drivers that require it.
- Builds with purpose-built electrical systems — a dedicated high-capacity lithium battery, 1/0 AWG power wiring, and a charging system sized for the load are not optional here. For builds where the electrical system was designed around the audio requirements, the BFA5000.1 uses that capacity.
- 4Ω driver applications at 3,000W — for builds running a 4Ω subwoofer where 3,000W is the target output, the BFA5000.1 provides that from a single channel while the 2Ω configuration remains available for dual voice coil or parallel wiring configurations.
Extreme Electrical Infrastructure Required
The BFA5000.1 requires 1/0 AWG power and ground wiring, a high-capacity lithium battery, and a charging system capable of sustaining 200A at music-level draw. Maximum current draw is 450A. A 200A fuse is required on the power feed. This amplifier is not compatible with a standard motorcycle charging system or factory wiring infrastructure. The build must be designed around the amplifier's electrical requirements before this amp is purchased.
The Bottom Line
5,000W mono — the highest-output Cicada amplifier for competition and show-level subwoofer builds. For builds that have earned it.
Ready to upgrade? Add to cart above. For serious sub output with more accessible infrastructure requirements, the FLX2500.1 delivers 2,500W with 2 AWG wiring and a lithium battery upgrade, and the FLX1600.1 delivers 1,600W with 4 AWG wiring and no lithium requirement.
Power Output — What the Numbers Mean
The BFA5000.1 is rated at 3,000W at 4Ω and 5,000W at 2Ω at 14.4V — a supply voltage that assumes a high-capacity lithium battery maintaining stable voltage under the sustained current draw this amplifier produces at rated output. At music-level draw of 200A, voltage stability at the amplifier terminals is directly dependent on the quality of the battery, the wire gauge between the battery and the amp, and the connection quality at both ends. At 450A maximum draw, the electrical system must be engineered for the load.
Frequency response runs 20–250 Hz — the BFA5000.1 is a dedicated subwoofer amplifier. It is not intended for full-range operation. The LPF and subsonic crossover controls are the appropriate signal management tools for this amp's operating range.
Crossover and Signal Control
The BFA5000.1 runs an LPF crossover covering 20–250 Hz with a 12 dB per octave slope, and a subsonic filter covering 20–50 Hz. The LPF sets the upper frequency limit for the subwoofer channel — typically 80–120 Hz for integration with a 4-channel front stage, depending on the crossover point set in the upstream amp or DSP. The subsonic filter protects the driver from excursion at frequencies below its usable range, where a high-excursion subwoofer can damage itself without visible or audible warning.
Input sensitivity runs 0.2V – 12V, covering standard RCA output from aftermarket head units and DSP pass-through line-level outputs.
System Integration
The BFA5000.1 accepts low-level RCA input from any aftermarket head unit or DSP processor, or high-level input via Molex® connector. Turn-on supports REM and DC offset modes.
At 200A music-level current draw, the BFA5000.1 is beyond the sustained output of any factory Harley charging system. A purpose-built electrical system with a high-capacity lithium battery, 1/0 AWG power and ground wiring from supply to amplifier, and a 200A fuse on the main power feed are all mandatory. For builds adding the BFA5000.1 alongside a 4-channel amp, the total system current draw must be calculated against the electrical system's rated sustained output before the install is finalised.
Speaker connections use 12 AWG busbar-style outputs for solid high-current termination to the subwoofer driver.
Fitment
- Designed for custom enclosure positions — Tour-Pak, saddlebag, lower fairing enclosures, or bespoke fabricated sub boxes. Physical dimensions not available at time of publish; confirm chassis size before planning the enclosure position.
- Compatible with all aftermarket head units (high-level or RCA inputs via Molex® connector).
- Requires 1/0 AWG power and ground wiring and a purpose-built electrical system. Not compatible with standard factory motorcycle wiring infrastructure.
