The 6×9 horn coaxial built for Harley saddlebag lid and rear stage builds.

The Cicada Audio CH69.2W is a 6×9-inch 2Ω coaxial horn speaker — 250W RMS, 95 dB sensitivity, aluminum horn tweeter with Nanofram™ all-weather horn cover, Black Coat™ OFC 2.5-inch mid-bass voice coil, N35SH neodymium motor, tweeter attenuation (-3/-6 dB), and an external 12 dB crossover in a die-cast aluminum basket with Vortex Flow Venting™. Built primarily for saddlebag lid enclosures on Harley-Davidson Touring. Sold in pairs.

The 6×9 format occupies the space between a 6.5-inch and a full 8-inch driver — more cone area and lower-frequency extension than the CH65, in a mounting footprint that fits a wider range of custom enclosure positions than the 8-inch CH8. In Tour-Pak lids, saddlebag panels, and rear speaker enclosures where a 6×9 cutout is possible, the CH69.2W brings the horn coaxial's efficiency and character to the rear stage with 250W RMS and 95 dB sensitivity.

Who This Speaker Is For

For riders adding a dedicated rear stage to a system with horn coaxials on the front, or building the rear saddlebag stage first on a model where the 6×9 format fits naturally. The CH69.2W is the 2Ω version, correct for dedicated 2Ω-rated amplifiers. For bridged amp configurations or builds where 4Ω is preferred, the CH69.4W is the 4Ω variant. For an 8-inch horn coaxial in larger custom enclosures, the CH8.2W is the larger-format option.

What This Is Best For

  • Custom saddlebag lid enclosures on Street Glide, Road Glide, and Ultra builds — purpose-built saddlebag lids sized for a 6×9 driver give the CH69.2W more low-end extension than a 6.5-inch in the same box volume. The Nanofram™ Horn Cover protects the tweeter horn from rain in the exposed saddlebag lid position.
  • Rear stage builds bringing the saddlebag position up to fairing stage level — riders who have CH65.2C speakers on the front and want the rear to match in horn character and sensitivity. 95 dB rear speakers keep pace with a high-output fairing stage without the amp having to work disproportionately hard on one end of the bike.
  • Full horn system builds — front and rear horn coaxials — pairing CH69.2W rear with CH65.2C front gives the full system a consistent horn character and sensitivity profile across all positions, simplifying level matching and system tuning.
  • Tour-Pak positions with custom 6×9 lids — aftermarket Tour-Pak lids accommodating 6×9 drivers are available and the CH69.2W fits those builds, though saddlebag lid installs are the more common application.

2Ω vs 4Ω — Choosing the Right Version

The CH69.2W is a 2Ω speaker. Choose the 2Ω version when running a dedicated 2Ω-rated amplifier in stereo — this is where the CH69.2W delivers its full rated output. For bridged amplifier configurations requiring a 4Ω minimum load, the CH69.4W (4Ω) is the correct choice.

The Bottom Line

250W RMS, 95 dB, 6×9 horn coaxial with Nanofram™ all-weather cover and tweeter attenuation — the rear stage horn coaxial for Tour-Pak and custom saddlebag lid builds.

Ready to upgrade? Add to cart above. For the 4Ω variant, the CH69.4W is the same speaker at 4Ω. For an 8-inch format in larger custom enclosures, the CH8.2W is the larger option.

What's Inside the CH69.2W

The tweeter is an aluminum dome in a horn waveguide, protected by the Nanofram™ Horn Cover — Cicada's all-weather horn enclosure for exposed positions. The removable threaded horn ring allows replacement or custom modification. Horn loading delivers 95 dB sensitivity — the fundamental efficiency advantage of the horn coaxial format over a dome-tweeter design. On the road: high-frequency output from a rear or Tour-Pak position that contributes to system presence rather than just filling spatial gaps.

The mid-bass cone is water resistant treated paper — lightweight, rigid, and high-temperature resistant. The 2.5-inch / 64mm Black Coat™ OFC copper mid-bass voice coil handles sustained 250W RMS with high conductivity and low thermal resistance. In the 6×9 format, the larger cone area over a standard 6.5-inch contributes to deeper, more authoritative low-end response from the rear stage. On the road: rear bass output that keeps pace with the fairing stage without requiring the amplifier to compensate with more volume.

The 1.4-inch / 36mm OFC copper tweeter voice coil completes the signal path. The motor is an N35SH neodymium with H-grade temperature rating. The die-cast aluminum basket with Vortex Flow Venting™ channels airflow through the motor for thermal management. The tweeter attenuation of -3 or -6 dB allows balancing the horn tweeter's sensitivity against the mid-bass — useful in rear positions where listening axis and distance differ from the front stage.

The external 12 dB crossover is custom-tooled, vented, and encased, with the tweeter attenuation resistor heat-sink encased separately.

Sensitivity and Frequency Coverage

At 95 dB (1W/1m), the CH69.2W delivers rear-stage output that matches the level a high-sensitivity front stage produces — no need to over-drive the rear channels to create a balanced soundstage. Combined with 250W RMS power handling and the 6×9 cone area's extended low-end response, the CH69.2W makes the rear stage a genuine part of the system rather than an afterthought.

Frequency response runs 75 Hz – 20 kHz (±3 dB). The 6×9 format's extended cone area gives meaningfully better bass extension than a 6.5-inch in a comparable enclosure volume.

Why 2Ω — Amplifier Pairing

At 2Ω, the CH69.2W extracts full rated output from any 2Ω-stable motorcycle amplifier — the impedance that dedicated motorcycle amplifiers including the FLX700.4 and FLX1000.4 publish their rated output at. At 250W RMS power capacity, the CH69.2W handles exactly those operating conditions. For bridged configurations requiring a 4Ω minimum load, the CH69.4W is the correct impedance choice.

Fitment

  • Designed primarily for custom saddlebag lid enclosures — the most common 6×9 position on Harley-Davidson Touring models.
  • Custom saddlebag lid enclosures: Purpose-built saddlebag lids with appropriate internal volume and a 6×9 cutout. The primary fitment for this speaker on Harley Touring.
  • Tour-Pak positions: Aftermarket Tour-Pak lids accommodating 6×9 drivers are available — the CH69.2W fits those builds when the Tour-Pak lid is designed for this format.
  • Other rear speaker positions on models with 6×9 factory or custom locations.
  • Mounting Depth: 93 mm (3.7 in). Mounting Diameter (cutout): 155 mm × 226 mm (6.6 in × 9.3 in).
  • Requires a dedicated external amplifier rated at 2Ω — FLX700.4, FLX1000.4, and other 2Ω-stable motorcycle amplifiers.
