Pre-Orders & Cancellations

Some of what we sell isn't sitting on the shelf when you order it. This page explains the three ways that happens and what you can cancel in each case.

Which one have you bought?

Back-order — something we stock normally that's temporarily out. It's coming, we just don't have it right now.

Pre-order — a product that hasn't been released yet, or a new shipment we've committed to.

Special order — an item sourced, imported, configured or built specifically for you, outside our normal range. We order it because you asked for it.

We'll tell you clearly at the time of ordering which one applies, and for special orders we'll confirm with you before we commit to the supplier.

Not sure whether something is in stock, on back-order or a special order? Ask us before you buy — email support@motorcycleaudio.com.au or call 07 3350 1354 and we'll check for you.

Pre-orders and back-orders

Payment is taken when you order, unless we've agreed otherwise.

You can cancel any time before it ships, for a full refund. No reason needed, no fee. Email or ring us.

Once it's shipped, it's a normal completed order and our Returns & Refunds policy applies.

Special orders

Special orders are different, and it's worth understanding why. When you place one, we place a matching order with a supplier or manufacturer — often overseas, often built or configured to your specification. We can't return it either, so we can't unwind it.

Before we place it with the supplier — cancel freely, full refund.

After we've placed it — it can't be cancelled, except where the Australian Consumer Law says otherwise.

We'll always tell you when you're crossing that line, so you're never locked in without knowing it.

Deposits

Some special orders — particularly parts for a workshop build — are taken on deposit rather than paid in full. Deposits are applied to your final invoice. If you cancel after we've committed to the supplier, the cost of those parts may be retained and anything left over is refunded to you.

If it's running late

Delivery timeframes for anything not in stock are estimates. Manufacturers push back release dates, shipments get held at the border, and freight goes slowly — none of which we control.

A delay on its own doesn't create a right to cancel a special order. But if a delay becomes unreasonable, talk to us. We'll tell you honestly where the order actually is and work out where to go from there, which may include cancelling and refunding you. We'd rather do that than have you waiting indefinitely on something that isn't coming.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law to receive goods within a reasonable time aren't affected by anything on this page.

If we can't supply it

Occasionally a product is discontinued, superseded, or a supplier simply can't deliver. If that happens to something you've ordered:

  • We'll contact you as soon as we know.
  • You can take a full refund, including any deposit, with no deduction.
  • Or we'll help you find the closest equivalent and adjust the price either way.

You're never left holding a credit for something that doesn't exist any more.

Price

The price you pay is the price at the time you ordered. If the product's price rises before it arrives, that's our problem, not yours.

How to cancel

Email support@motorcycleaudio.com.au with your order number, or call 07 3350 1354 during business hours. We'll confirm in writing and refund to your original payment method.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including your right to a remedy if goods are faulty or aren't supplied within a reasonable time.
