Pro saddlebag performance built for bridged-amp and conservative systems.
The CXX69.4 is Cicada's Pro-series 6×9" saddlebag coaxial — the 4Ω variant of the CXX69.2, built for bridged-amp configurations and systems where amplifier thermal margin matters. 200W RMS, 93 dB sensitivity, Kevlar cone, N45H neodymium motor, V8™ Dispersion Guide, Rain or Shine™ weatherproof. Sold in pairs.
The CXX69.4 and CXX69.2 share the same Pro-series build — Kevlar cone, N45H motor, V8™ Dispersion Guide, 200W RMS. The 4Ω impedance presents a higher load to the amplifier: lower current demand, less heat, and more tolerance for the wiring realities of a motorcycle install. For bridged-amp rear stage builds — where a 4Ω minimum load is typically required — or systems where amplifier thermal margin is part of the brief, the CXX69.4 is the right choice.
Who This Speaker Is For
For riders who want Pro-series saddlebag performance — Kevlar cone, N45H motor, 200W RMS, V8™ 360° tweeter projection — with a 4Ω load that's easier on the amplifier. Requires a dedicated external amplifier. For maximum output from a dedicated 2Ω-rated amplifier running in stereo, the CXX69.2 is the 2Ω variant.
What This Is Best For
- Bridged rear stage builds — when the rear amp channels are bridged for higher per-channel output, a 4Ω speaker is the correct load. Bridging halves the impedance the amp sees — a 4Ω speaker bridged presents a 2Ω load, what the FLX500.4 and FLX700.4 are rated for at their bridged minimum. The CXX69.4 is the correct saddlebag speaker for this configuration.
- A more conservative Pro rear stage — Pro-series Kevlar cone, N45H motor, and V8™ Dispersion Guide with the 4Ω impedance that lowers amplifier current demand and adds thermal margin. 200W RMS power handling with room to breathe.
- Upgrading from the CX69.4 — same saddlebag fitment, same 4Ω impedance, Pro-series build in place of the standard CX. Kevlar cone, N45H motor, doubled power handling, and V8™ Dispersion Guide are the difference.
- Full Pro-series front-and-rear builds at 4Ω — pairing the CXX65.4 in the fairing with the CXX69.4 in the saddlebags gives a consistent Pro-series 4Ω front and rear stage, compatible with a single four-channel amplifier running stereo or bridged on either stage.
4Ω vs 2Ω — Choosing the Right Version
The CXX69.4 is a 4Ω speaker — the correct choice for bridged-amp configurations, where bridging two amplifier channels halves the impedance the amp sees. A 4Ω speaker bridged presents a 2Ω load — within safe operating range for the FLX500.4, FLX700.4, and most quality amplifiers. A 4Ω load also gives the amplifier more thermal margin in stereo configurations. For maximum output from a 2Ω-stable amplifier running stereo, the CXX69.2 (2Ω) delivers more power from the same hardware.
The Bottom Line
Pro-series saddlebag performance — 200W RMS, Kevlar cone, N45H neodymium motor, V8™ 360° tweeter projection, Rain or Shine™ weatherproof, with the 4Ω impedance that adds amplifier thermal margin and unlocks bridged configurations. Requires a dedicated external amplifier.
Ready to build your rear stage? Add to cart above. For non-bridged amplified builds or maximum output from a 2Ω-rated amplifier, the CXX69.2 is the 2Ω variant.
What's Inside the CXX69.4
The cone is Kevlar — low mass, high stiffness, and moisture resistance for a 6×9" driver in an enclosed saddlebag environment. A Kevlar cone maintains shape at higher excursion levels and produces less distortion as output increases, with dimensional stability across the temperature range a saddlebag encounters — from cold starts to sustained summer highway running. On the road: the rear stage stays clean and controlled at volume rather than compressing and hardening as power increases.
The N45H neodymium motor delivers a stronger magnetic field than the N35 in the CX69 range — more flux density in the gap, better voice coil control at the excursion levels 200W RMS produces. The voice coil is 2.0-inch copper wound, sized for the thermal demands of sustained high-power drive, with the H-grade temperature rating ensuring the magnet holds its properties under sustained load. On the road: consistent output across a full day of riding — no thermal rolloff as the speaker heats up over distance.
The tweeter is a 1.2-inch PEI dome loaded by the V8™ Dispersion Guide for 360° tweeter projection. From the saddlebag position, the tweeter is not pointing directly at the rider — the V8™ horn geometry distributes high-frequency energy across the full coverage area, keeping treble presence consistent across the listening window regardless of riding position. On the road: usable treble detail from the rear at any riding position or road speed.
The custom-tooled polycarbonate basket is UV-stabilised and thermally resistant, and the built-in 6dB crossover protects the tweeter from low-frequency excursion without requiring an external network.
Sensitivity and Frequency Coverage
At 93 dB (1W/1m) and 200W RMS, the CXX69.4 has the sensitivity and power capacity to drive a rear stage that cuts through highway wind and road noise. The 4Ω impedance means the amplifier runs cooler and with more current headroom — in sustained high-output riding conditions, that margin is what keeps the system performing over a full day rather than throttling back.
Frequency response runs 50 Hz – 20 kHz (±3 dB). The 6×9-inch cone area and 50 Hz lower extension give the CXX69.4 genuine mid-bass presence from the saddlebag. For builds running a front stage alongside, the CXX65.4 in the fairing handles the upper frequencies while the CXX69.4 reinforces the low end.
Why 4Ω — Bridged Amps and Thermal Margin
When an amplifier runs in bridged mode, it combines two channels to drive a single speaker pair with more power. The trade-off is that bridging halves the impedance the amplifier sees — a 4Ω speaker on a bridged channel presents a 2Ω load to the amplifier. Most quality amplifiers including the Cicada FLX500.4 and FLX700.4 are stable at 2Ω in bridged mode. Running a 2Ω speaker bridged would present a 1Ω load — below safe operating limits for most amplifiers. The CXX69.4 is the correct saddlebag speaker for any bridged-amp rear stage.
At 4Ω in a standard stereo configuration, the CXX69.4 also gives the amplifier more thermal headroom. For long-distance touring in summer heat, or any build where amplifier reliability under sustained load is a priority, 4Ω is the more conservative choice. For maximum output from a 2Ω-stable amplifier running stereo, the CXX69.2 is the higher-output option.
