A full 4-channel FLX amplifier install on a 2014+ Harley-Davidson Touring model involves five separate harnesses: two input harnesses (front and rear, with 47-ohm resistors for proper impedance matching to the factory head unit), two output harnesses (front and rear, routing amplified signal to the factory speaker locations), and the power kit. Sourcing all five separately means five part numbers, multiple orders, and the risk of grabbing the wrong harness for the wrong stage. How It Works
Two input harnesses carry signal in: the HDFIM at the front and the HDRIM at the rear, each carrying 47 ohm resistors that match impedance to the factory head unit and each terminated in Molex connectors. On the road: the factory radio sees the load it expects, so the amplifier integrates with the standard head unit output stage.
Signal goes back out through the HDBDAFO and HDBDARO output harnesses to the factory speaker locations, the rear one with an 8-foot extension for the longer run, and the HDPG4K supplies 4 AWG power and ground. Ferrules land at the amplifier terminals and OEM-style connectors handle the rest. On the road: the join between amplifier and bike is a set of plugs rather than a cut and taped splice.
