The front stage the factory left out — vented lower fairings with MAS.654 speakers pre-installed
The Precision Power HD13.LVF is a complete lower fairing speaker kit for 1998–2013 Harley-Davidson® Touring motorcycles. Each pair includes Vivid Black vented lower fairing pods with Precision Power MAS.654 6.5" 4Ω speakers pre-installed, a Midrange Notch Filter crossover network, and a plug-n-play wiring harness pre-configured for the MAA4.400 amplifier. It delivers the cone area, midbass authority, and wide stereo image that upper fairing speakers alone cannot produce.
Upper fairing speakers on a 1998–2013 Harley Touring sit behind the windscreen and project primarily forward and upward. They handle midrange and treble well. What they cannot deliver is a proper lower front stage — the low-mounted, wide-spaced cone area that fills in the 80–300 Hz range where bass energy is felt as much as heard, and where the stereo image gains width and depth at riding speed. The HD13.LVF adds that stage without fabrication: pre-loaded pods in the correct Vivid Black finish, with speakers already installed, crossover already included, and wiring already configured.
Who This Is For
Riders building a multi-speaker front stage on a 1998–2013 Harley Touring where upper fairing speakers alone are not delivering enough cone area, bass authority, or stereo width at highway speed. The HD13.LVF requires OEM-style highway bars and pairs with the HD13.52 upper fairing speakers and HD13.AWK amplifier kit. DSP is strongly recommended when running upper and lower fairing speakers together.
What This Is Best For
- Multi-speaker front stage — Adds a 6.5" lower fairing stage to complement upper fairing speakers. The combined front-stage cone area and the lower mounting position of the pods substantially increases midbass output and stereo image width compared to upper fairing speakers alone.
- Complete kit — no separate speaker purchase required — Vivid Black fairings, MAS.654 speakers pre-mounted, Midrange Notch Filter crossover, and plug-n-play wiring all included. Order the kit, bolt it on, connect to the MAA4.400.
- Midrange Notch Filter crossover for lower fairing balance — The included passive crossover is designed specifically for the acoustic environment of a vented lower fairing installation — correcting the frequency response imbalance that occurs when speakers are mounted low and angled outward. It produces a flatter tonal balance when the lower pods are run alongside upper fairing speakers.
- Vivid Black factory finish — ABS pods painted in Harley-Davidson® Vivid Black gloss — the standard Harley Touring black that matches current and period-correct bodywork without repainting.
OEM-style highway bars required. The HD13.LVF requires OEM-style highway bars for mounting. It is not compatible with mustache-style highway bars or models without highway bars fitted.
Pre-wired for Precision Power MAA4.400. The wiring harness is configured for the MAA4.400 amplifier. Integration with alternative amplifiers requires installer knowledge to adapt the connection.
DSP strongly recommended. Running upper and lower fairing speakers together without DSP-controlled crossover points and level balancing typically results in comb filtering and tonal imbalance at the listening position. DSP is the difference between a properly staged front system and a loud one.
Professional installation is recommended — mounting vented lower fairing pods requires care around highway bar clearances, cable routing, and fairing fitment.

The Bottom Line
The HD13.LVF is the front-stage component that moves a Harley Touring audio system from a speaker upgrade to a properly staged build. More cone area, more midbass, more stereo width — and it arrives as a complete kit with the speakers installed, the crossover included, and the wiring ready for the MAA4.400. Add DSP and pair with the HD13.52 upper fairing speakers for a front stage that performs at highway speed.

What's In The Kit
Vented lower fairing housings — Vivid Black ABS, pair. Two vented lower fairing pods constructed from industrial-grade ABS plastic and painted in Harley-Davidson® Vivid Black gloss. Ventilation ports allow bass from the speaker to project outward while the rear cavity provides the enclosure volume required for the MAS.654's lower-frequency operation. The ABS construction handles the vibration, heat, and road exposure of sustained touring use without cracking or fading.
Precision Power MAS.654 6.5" 4Ω speakers — pre-installed. Each lower fairing arrives with a Precision Power MAS.654 coaxial speaker already mounted. The MAS.654 is a 4Ω, 75W RMS 6.5" coaxial with a neodymium motor, polypropylene-coated paper cone, titanium dome tweeter, and glass fibre-reinforced ABS basket. The 4Ω impedance is the correct choice for a multi-channel amplified system where the same amplifier may also drive upper fairing or saddlebag speakers.
Midrange Notch Filter crossover. A purpose-designed passive crossover network for vented lower fairing installations. Lower fairing speaker positions produce a different acoustic environment than upper fairing pods — mounted low, angled outward, operating in a vented enclosure. The Midrange Notch Filter compensates for the frequency-response variations of this position, producing a flatter tonal balance when the lower fairings are run alongside upper fairing speakers in a multi-speaker system. Not required if the HD13.LVF is used as a standalone system without upper fairing speakers.
Plug-n-play wiring harness with waterproof quick-disconnect plugs. A pre-wired harness configured for the Precision Power MAA4.400 amplifier output channels, with waterproof quick-disconnect connectors. The quick-disconnect design allows the fairing pods to be detached without disconnecting speaker terminals by hand.
