Horn-loaded projection at speed, 4Ω compatibility — all-weather 6.5" coaxial for motorcycle fairing positions

The Precision Power HTW.654 is a 6.5" 4Ω horn-loaded coaxial speaker for motorcycle fairing, lower fairing pod, and aftermarket 6.5" enclosure positions on Harley-Davidson® and Indian® Touring models. A horn-loaded titanium tweeter delivers directional high-frequency output with more forward throw than a conventional dome can achieve in the same mounting space. The 4Ω impedance pairs cleanly with the widest range of aftermarket motorcycle amplifiers — the practical choice where 2Ω loading would overdrive the amplifier's minimum impedance rating. A polypropylene cone with Santoprene surround and ABS/fibreglass basket are built for all-weather riding under Precision Power's Rain or Shine™ design standard.

The HTW.654 delivers the same horn-loaded tweeter performance as the 2Ω HTW.652 — focused, directional high-frequency output that carries through highway wind and road noise with more intensity and throw than a conventional dome — in a 4Ω configuration that is compatible with any standard aftermarket motorcycle amplifier. Where the HTW.652 is the choice for extracting maximum power from factory radios and 2Ω-rated amps, the HTW.654 is the choice for multi-channel amplified builds where 4Ω stability ensures clean, reliable operation across the full system.

Who This Is For

Riders upgrading 6.5" fairing or lower fairing pod positions on Harley-Davidson® Touring or Indian® Touring models who are running an amplified system and want horn-loaded high-frequency clarity at highway speed without the 2Ω constraint. The HTW.654 pairs with the HTW.694 for a matched 4Ω horn-loaded rear stage. For a 2Ω front stage, see the HTW.652. For maximum-output horn-loaded performance with bi-amp capability, see the MAS.652HT.

What This Is Best For

  • Horn-loaded high-frequency projection at speed — The horn geometry focuses titanium tweeter output forward with more directional intensity than an open dome — keeping vocals and high-frequency detail audible through wind and road noise at highway speed.
  • All-weather construction — The Santoprene surround maintains its elasticity through the temperature swings and moisture exposure of open-air riding. The ABS/fibreglass basket handles UV exposure and sustained vibration without cracking or distorting.
  • 4Ω compatibility — the widest amplifier choice — The 4Ω impedance is compatible with every standard aftermarket motorcycle amplifier, making it the practical choice for amplified builds where the system is designed around 4Ω loads or where the amplifier is not rated for 2Ω operation.
  • Universal 6.5" motorcycle speaker fit — Suits Harley-Davidson® 2014+ front and lower fairing positions, Indian® Touring fairing locations, and aftermarket 6.5" motorcycle speaker enclosures. Mounting adapter requirements vary by position — confirm before installation.
Before You Order — Compatibility Notes

Mounting adapters may be required. The HTW.654 is a universal 6.5" coaxial — not a drop-in replacement kit for any specific model. Harley-Davidson® 2014+ fairing and lower fairing pods use a specific mounting pattern; confirm adapter requirements for your position before ordering.

2Ω variant available. If your amplifier is rated as 2Ω-stable and you want maximum output from the same power source, the HTW.652 is the matching 2Ω speaker. Check your amplifier's minimum impedance rating before selecting a variant.

For maximum-output amplified builds, the MAS.652HT offers a ring radiator horn construction, 150W RMS handling, and bi-amp capability for premium front-stage builds.

The Bottom Line

The HTW.654 is the horn-loaded 6.5" fairing speaker for amplified builds running standard 4Ω amplifier configurations. The same forward-projection tweeter and Rain or Shine™ all-weather construction as the HTW.652, in the impedance that works with every aftermarket motorcycle amplifier on the market.

For 2Ω systems, see the HTW.652. For a matched rear stage, see the HTW.694 (4Ω) or HTW.692 (2Ω). For the Atom Mini amplifier, see the MAA4.400.

TAB 2 — TECHNICAL DETAIL --------------------------

What's Inside

Horn-loaded titanium tweeter. The HTW.654 uses a titanium tweeter mounted within a horn waveguide that focuses high-frequency output forward. The horn geometry concentrates the tweeter's radiated energy toward the rider's listening position rather than allowing it to disperse in all directions — increasing the intensity of what reaches the rider at highway speed and making the high frequencies more resistant to wind noise attenuation. Titanium provides the rigidity and low mass required for extended high-frequency response without the resonance of softer dome materials.

Polypropylene cone with Santoprene surround. A polypropylene woofer cone handles midrange and upper bass, co-moulded with a Santoprene surround. Santoprene is a thermoplastic rubber that maintains its elasticity across the temperature range and moisture exposure of open-air riding — resisting the UV, heat cycling, and road spray that cause foam surrounds to crack and rubber surrounds to harden over the service life of a motorcycle speaker installation.

High-output neodymium motor. A neodymium magnet motor delivers a high force factor within a compact form factor, keeping mounting depth within the constraints of standard fairing and lower fairing pod positions while supporting the HTW.654's 92 dB sensitivity.

ABS/fibreglass basket. The glass fibre reinforced ABS basket is dimensionally stable under motorcycle vibration loads, UV-resistant, and unaffected by corrosion in weathered open-air applications. No grilles are included; the fairing housing or aftermarket enclosure provides the finished appearance.

Integrated high-pass crossover. An internal crossover network manages frequency distribution between the woofer and horn-loaded tweeter, protecting the tweeter from low-frequency excursion and maintaining tonal balance across the operating range.

Sensitivity and Frequency Coverage

At 92 dB (1W/1m), the HTW.654 delivers strong output from standard amplifier power levels — appropriate for multi-speaker front-stage configurations where a single amplifier channel may drive both upper and lower fairing speakers. The 80 Hz – 20 kHz frequency response covers the full fairing speaker range in a system where low frequencies are managed by a subwoofer or high-pass filter. A high-pass crossover above 80 Hz at the amplifier is recommended to protect the woofer from excessive low-frequency excursion.

Why 4Ω

A 4Ω speaker is compatible with the full range of aftermarket motorcycle amplifiers, making it the practical default for amplified builds where the amplifier is not specifically rated for 2Ω operation. For riders running multi-channel systems where amplifier load stability across all channels matters — particularly when combining front and rear speakers on a shared amplifier — 4Ω loading provides a reliable operating point across the full system. Where 2Ω loading would allow more peak power extraction from a 2Ω-stable amplifier, the HTW.652 is the matching 2Ω variant.
