The highest-output 6.5" horn-loaded fairing speaker for 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring

The Precision Power MAS.652HT is a 6.5" 2Ω horn-loaded coaxial speaker built for the fairing and Tour-Pak® speaker locations on 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring models. A titanium ring radiator tweeter with integrated horn and phase plug delivers 93 dB sensitivity and significantly higher forward projection than a standard dome tweeter.

A horn-loaded tweeter is not an incremental upgrade over a conventional dome — it is a different approach to producing sound. The horn geometry focuses and amplifies the tweeter's output, directing high frequencies forward with more intensity and over a longer throw distance than a dome tweeter can achieve in the same space. In the context of a fairing speaker competing with wind, exhaust, and road noise at 100 km/h, this difference is audible and significant. Vocals stay intelligible. Instrument detail does not disappear into the noise floor.

The MAS.652HT is bi-amp capable with an integrated 12 dB high-pass crossover, and a jumper is included for standard single-amplifier operation. No grilles are included; the fairing pod or Tour-Pak® housing provides the finish.

Who This Is For

Riders building high-output front-stage systems on 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring models who want the maximum performance achievable from the OEM fairing or Tour-Pak® location. The MAS.652HT requires a capable 2Ω-stable amplifier producing 100–200W RMS per channel, and benefits significantly from DSP control when combined with rear speakers. If you are on factory radio power only, the standard MAS.652 is the appropriate choice.

What This Is Best For

  • Maximum output from OEM fairing positions — The horn-loaded tweeter delivers higher SPL and better forward projection than a standard dome can achieve in the same enclosure — measurable at speed and in open-air riding environments.
  • High-output touring front stages — At 93 dB sensitivity and 150W RMS handling, the MAS.652HT can absorb serious amplifier power and deliver the result at highway-speed listening distances without compression.
  • Complete MAS system builds — Pairs with the MAS.692HT for a cohesive, matched horn-loaded system front and rear. Note that a 6x9 rear is not a factory position on these bikes: an ordinary 2014–2023 Touring model has no saddlebag speaker opening at all, and adding 6x9 requires replacement speaker lids or a cut-in lid kit.
  • Bi-amp configurations — Dedicated tweeter terminals allow separate amplifier channels to drive the woofer and tweeter independently, with the jumper removed for true bi-amped operation.
Before You Order — Compatibility Notes

Check your factory speaker size first — 6.5" is the upgrade size, not necessarily the factory size. The MAS.652HT is a purpose-built 6.5" driver for the 2014–2023 fairing and Tour-Pak® locations. On most standard Touring models of these years the factory fairing driver was 5.25", and the factory Tour-Pak® pod driver was 5.25", while some CVO™ and higher-specification factory audio packages used 6.5". Because of that, confirm the mounting hardware your exact bike and position needs before ordering — send us the year, model and position and we will confirm it.

Amplifier required. The MAS.652HT is designed for amplified systems only. A 2Ω-stable amplifier producing 100–200W RMS per channel is recommended. Factory head-unit power is not sufficient to realise this speaker's capability.

DSP strongly recommended. When combining front horn-loaded speakers with rear speakers, DSP tuning is required to properly balance the system, set crossover points, and manage the directional output characteristics of the horn tweeter. Without DSP, a high-output horn-loaded front stage can produce a system that is loud but not well-balanced.

Year scope: 2014–2023 Touring. It is not compatible with pre-2014 fairing pods without checking dimensions, and we do not list it for the redesigned 2024-and-later Skyline fairing — that platform has different enclosures and mounting, and on the standard 2024+ Street Glide® and Road Glide® the factory fairing driver is 5.25".

The Bottom Line

The MAS.652HT is the maximum-output fairing speaker for riders who have already committed to a proper amplified Harley touring build. The horn-loaded tweeter, 93 dB sensitivity, and 150W RMS handling represent a step beyond what a standard dome coaxial can deliver in the same mounting location — and it goes into the OEM fairing or Tour-Pak® location rather than a custom enclosure.

For matched rear output, pair with the MAS.692HT.

TAB 2 — TECHNICAL DETAIL --------------------------

What's Inside

Titanium ring radiator tweeter with integrated horn and phase plug. The MAS.652HT uses a ring radiator tweeter — a design that produces a more uniform wave front than a conventional dome, reducing colouration at high frequencies. The integrated horn geometry amplifies and focuses the tweeter's output, increasing SPL and extending the throw distance compared to a standard dome tweeter in the same space. A phase plug ensures consistent phase response across the frequency range, maintaining detail and imaging accuracy at speed. This tweeter assembly is the reason the MAS.652HT sounds different, not just louder, than a standard coaxial.

Neodymium motor with polypropylene-coated paper cone. A low-mass neodymium magnet drives a reinforced polypropylene-coated paper woofer cone — efficient enough to maximise output from a given amplifier power, and with sufficient cone stiffness to maintain controlled midbass at elevated volume levels. A 1.75" oxygen-free copper voice coil on a thermally absorbent aluminium former handles the heat generated by sustained amplified operation.

Integrated 12 dB high-pass crossover with bi-amp capability. The internal crossover network rolls off low frequencies before they reach the tweeter, providing more aggressive tweeter protection than the 6 dB crossover used in the standard MAS coaxials — appropriate given the higher power levels this speaker is intended for. Dedicated tweeter terminals allow the crossover to be bypassed for bi-amped operation; the included jumper restores single-amplifier operation.

Glass fibre reinforced ABS basket and weather-resistant rubber surround. The basket provides structural rigidity in fairing and Tour-Pak® pod applications; the rubber surround resists moisture, road spray, and the temperature cycling of an open-air vehicle. No grilles are included; the speaker is used within the existing fairing or Tour-Pak® housing.

Sensitivity and Frequency Coverage

At 93 dB (1W/1m), the MAS.652HT is 1 dB more sensitive than the standard MAS coaxials — a smaller margin than the horn geometry might suggest, because the full-range sensitivity figure averages the woofer and tweeter output together. The horn's benefit is most audible in the tweeter's operating range, particularly above 3–4 kHz, where the focused projection substantially outperforms a conventional dome at typical riding listening distances. The 100 Hz – 22 kHz frequency response reflects the crossover-limited lower extension; a high-pass crossover at the amplifier set above 80 Hz is recommended to protect the woofer.

Why 2Ω

A 2Ω speaker draws more current from the amplifier, which — in high-output motorcycle amplifier designs — translates to more usable power per channel in a load-stable amplifier. For the MAS.652HT, the 2Ω configuration is the correct choice for systems where the amplifier is sized correctly for the speaker's 150W RMS capability: the increased current draw is matched by an amplifier built to deliver it. Confirm that your amplifier is rated as 2Ω-stable before pairing with the MAS.652HT.

Fitment

The MAS.652HT is a 6.5" driver for the fairing and Tour-Pak® speaker positions on 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring models. Keep three things apart when you check fitment: what Harley fitted, what the housing will hold, and what you are upgrading to. On most standard models of these years the factory fairing driver was 5.25" and the factory Tour-Pak® pod driver was 5.25"; some CVO™ and higher-specification factory audio packages used 6.5". OEM Tour-Pak® pods accept up to a 6.5" driver. Mounting depth is 70 mm (2.75 in), so confirm depth and grille clearance for your position, and confirm what mounting hardware your bike needs. No grilles are included; the speaker fits within the existing fairing or Tour-Pak® housing. Send us your year, model and position and we will confirm the parts before you order.

Model Year Range Position
Street Glide® / Street Glide® Special / CVO™ Street Glide® 2014–2023 Inner fairing; speaker-ready or accessory lower fairing
Road Glide® / Road Glide® Special / CVO™ Road Glide® / Road Glide® Ultra 2015–2023 Inner fairing; speaker-ready or accessory lower fairing
Electra Glide® / Ultra Limited 2014–2023 Inner fairing; speaker-ready or accessory lower fairing; Tour-Pak® pod
Tri Glide® Ultra 2014–2023 Inner fairing; Tour-Pak® pod

Two notes on the positions above. The lower fairing is not a factory speaker position on standard models — a speaker-ready or accessory lower fairing is required. And where a bike has factory Tour-Pak® pod speakers in these years, the factory driver was 5.25"; the OEM pod accepts up to a 6.5" driver, so confirm the mounting hardware for that position.
