The rear saddlebag speaker that projects upward to the rider — not just outward
The Precision Power MAS.692HT is a 6×9" 2Ω horn-loaded coaxial speaker engineered for Harley-Davidson® Touring saddlebag lid positions. The horn-loaded titanium ring radiator tweeter provides the forward throw and directional projection needed to move sound from a low-mounted saddlebag position up to the rider at speed — where a conventional dome tweeter, mounted below the rider's ears and aimed outward, simply cannot compete with wind and road noise.
Saddlebag speakers are in the worst possible position: low, rear-facing, and competing against wind and engine noise that is between them and the rider's ears. A conventional dome tweeter in this position scatters high-frequency energy in all directions — most of it goes into the road, not toward the rider. The horn geometry of the MAS.692HT changes this. By focusing and amplifying the tweeter's output in the forward direction, the horn compensates for the positional disadvantage and delivers substantially more usable high-frequency energy to the rider at speed.
The MAS.692HT is the rear complement to the MAS.652HT front fairing speaker — same driver technology, sized and depth-configured for a 6×9" saddlebag lid kit. At 95 dB sensitivity and 200W RMS handling, it is the highest-output rear speaker in the MAS range.
Who This Is For
Riders building high-output Harley-Davidson® Touring systems with 6×9" saddlebag lid kits, running a capable 2Ω-stable amplifier producing 150–250W RMS per rear channel. The MAS.692HT is the correct rear speaker for a system built around the MAS.652HT front stage — the horn-loaded technology is consistent across both positions, making DSP balancing more predictable. DSP is strongly recommended when combining front and rear horn-loaded speakers.
What This Is Best For
- Projecting rear-stage output to the rider — The horn geometry focuses high-frequency energy forward and upward from a low saddlebag mount, substantially improving rear-stage audibility at highway speeds compared to a conventional dome in the same position.
- Matched MAS horn-loaded systems — Pairs with the MAS.652HT front fairing speakers for a complete, front-to-rear horn-loaded touring system. Consistent driver technology simplifies DSP balancing between positions.
- High-power saddlebag builds — At 95 dB sensitivity and 200W RMS handling, the MAS.692HT absorbs serious amplifier power and delivers the result in audible rear-stage output, not heat.
- HD13.SBS and HD14.SBS lid kit builds — Sized as the intended audio component for Precision Power's 6×9" saddlebag upgrade lid kits for 1998–2013 and 2014+ Touring models respectively.
6×9" lid kit required. The MAS.692HT requires a saddlebag lid with a 6×9" speaker cut-out. It does not fit factory Harley-Davidson® standard saddlebag lids without a lid kit. Compatible kits include Precision Power HD13.SBS (1998–2013) and HD14.SBS (2014+).
Amplifier and DSP required. The MAS.692HT is designed for amplified systems. A 2Ω-stable amplifier producing 150–250W RMS per rear channel is recommended. DSP tuning is strongly recommended when combining with front horn-loaded speakers to manage system balance, crossover points, and the directional output characteristics of horn-loaded drivers.

The Bottom Line
The MAS.692HT solves the fundamental problem with saddlebag speakers in a high-output Harley system — the horn geometry gives the rear stage the projection needed to actually reach the rider at speed, from a mounting position that makes this difficult by default. Pair it with the MAS.652HT up front, and the result is a consistent, high-output system front to rear.
For the matched front fairing speaker, see the MAS.652HT.
What's Inside
Titanium ring radiator tweeter with integrated horn and phase plug. The MAS.692HT uses the same ring radiator and horn assembly as the MAS.652HT — a tweeter design that produces a focused, directional wave front rather than scattering high-frequency energy in all directions. The horn geometry amplifies output in the forward direction, which is the direction that matters from a low saddlebag mount. The phase plug ensures consistent phase response across the crossover region. For rear-stage speakers, this is a functionally important difference from a conventional dome tweeter.
Neodymium motor with polypropylene-coated paper cone. A lightweight neodymium motor drives a reinforced polypropylene-coated paper woofer cone — the larger 6×9" cone area providing more midbass output than a 6.5" driver in the same enclosure. A 1.75" oxygen-free copper voice coil on a thermally absorbent aluminium former manages heat under sustained rear-channel amplifier power. The rubber surround protects the cone from the moisture and vibration of saddlebag lid use.
Integrated 12 dB high-pass crossover with bi-amp capability. The internal crossover rolls off low frequencies before they reach the horn tweeter, with a steeper slope than the standard 6 dB crossover in the MAS coaxial range. Dedicated tweeter terminals allow bi-amped operation; the included jumper restores single-amplifier connection.
Glass fibre reinforced ABS basket. Provides structural rigidity and impact resistance in the saddlebag lid environment, where vibration from the road transmits through the lid and directly into the speaker frame.
Sensitivity and Frequency Coverage
At 95 dB (1W/1m), the MAS.692HT is the most sensitive speaker in the MAS horn-loaded range — 2 dB more than the MAS.652HT, reflecting the larger cone area and the additional efficiency contributed by the horn assembly at this driver size. The 80 Hz – 22 kHz frequency response extends lower than the 6.5" MAS.652HT, reflecting the larger woofer cone's capability. High-pass crossover settings at the amplifier above 80 Hz are recommended. When DSP is in the system, align crossover points between the front and rear speakers to ensure consistent tonal balance across riding positions.
Why 2Ω
The 2Ω configuration draws more current from the rear amplifier channels — the appropriate choice for the rear saddlebag position in a high-output system where the amplifier is sized for the speaker's 200W RMS capability. Confirm that your amplifier is rated as stable at 2Ω per channel before pairing with the MAS.692HT.
Fitment
The MAS.692HT requires a 6×9" saddlebag lid cut-in — it does not fit factory Harley-Davidson® standard saddlebag lids without a lid kit. No grilles included; the speaker is used with the lid kit's existing surround or grille.
