RCA signal input to Molex® adapter harness for Cicada Audio amplifiers — plug-and-play, no cutting or splicing

The Cicada Audio RCA2iM is the dedicated RCA-to-Molex® input harness for all Cicada Audio amplifiers with Molex® signal input connectors. These amplifiers accept signal input via a Molex® connector — the RCA2iM bridges an RCA signal source to that connector, allowing an aftermarket head unit, standalone DSP, or any RCA-output source to feed directly into the amp. Plug-and-play installation, no cutting or splicing required.

Cicada Audio amplifiers are engineered to accept signal via Molex® — a deliberate design choice that accommodates both factory Harley-Davidson® harness integration and aftermarket RCA sources through the same connector ecosystem. The RCA2iM is purpose-built for the RCA path: correct pinout, correct connector, correct wire gauge for the signal level. For the complementary output side of Cicada amplifiers, see the SP2oM speaker output harness.

Who This Is For

Builders running any Cicada Audio amplifier with an RCA signal source — an aftermarket head unit, a standalone DSP with RCA outputs, or a line output converter. If your signal source outputs RCA and your Cicada amp accepts a Molex® input, the RCA2iM is the correct connector solution. If you're using the factory Harley-Davidson® harness path, you don't need this harness.

What This Is Best For

  • Aftermarket head unit installs with RCA preamp outputs — Most aftermarket head units output a preamp-level RCA signal (typically 2V–4V). The RCA2iM adapts that output directly to the Molex® input on the Cicada amp — clean, correct connection without improvised adapters or intermediate wiring. On the road: stable signal level from deck to amp, with no additional resistance, ground loops, or noise introduced by adapter chains.
  • Standalone DSP or active crossover integration — Builders adding a Cicada amplifier downstream of a standalone DSP (with RCA outputs) use the RCA2iM to connect the DSP's processed RCA outputs to the amp's Molex® input. One harness, purpose-built pinout, no guesswork on wire assignments. On the road: the DSP's crossover outputs arrive at the amp's inputs exactly as intended — no signal degradation from connector mismatch.
  • Correct connector interface for Cicada's Molex® ecosystem — Cicada amplifiers use Molex® connectors rather than exposed terminal blocks for input and output. This prevents accidental shorts, keeps connections secure under vibration, and provides a standardised interface for both factory and aftermarket signal sources. The RCA2iM provides the RCA-side of that interface with matched pinout, so the amp sees the correct signal assignment at each pin. On the road: connections that stay secure through vibration and temperature cycling — no terminal creep, no intermittent signal.
  • Plug-and-play — no cutting or splicing — The harness is terminated at both ends: RCA plugs on the source side, Molex® on the amp side. No wiring modification required on the amp, and no modification required at the signal source. Disconnect the RCA cable from the old amplifier, connect the RCA2iM, plug into the Cicada amp. On the road: a clean, reversible installation that can be disconnected without modifying the amplifier or the source unit.

RCA2iM vs SP2oM — which harness do you need?

There are two Cicada Molex® harnesses for these amplifiers, and they serve different functions. The RCA2iM (this product) is the input harness — it connects your RCA signal source to the amplifier's Molex® signal input. The SP2oM is the output harness — it connects the amplifier's Molex® speaker output to your speaker wiring. Most builds require both: one to get signal into the amp, one to get amplified speaker signal out. If you're wiring a Cicada amp from scratch in a non-kit install, you likely need both the RCA2iM and the SP2oM.

The Bottom Line

The RCA2iM is the purpose-built input harness for all Cicada Audio amplifiers — one plug-and-play solution that gets an RCA signal source correctly wired to the amp's Molex® input without cutting, splicing, or improvised adapters. If you're pairing any Cicada Audio amplifier with an aftermarket head unit or DSP, this is the harness you need. Available at MAA as Australia's authorised Cicada Audio dealer.

Why Molex® Connectors on Cicada Amplifiers

Cicada Audio amplifiers use Molex® connectors for signal input and speaker output rather than conventional exposed screw terminals or push-in blocks. Molex® connectors are locking, vibration-resistant, and provide a standardised pinout that prevents incorrect wiring — relevant on a motorcycle where the amp is mounted in a location (fairing, saddlebag, under-seat) that experiences sustained vibration and makes terminal access difficult after installation. The connector system allows Cicada amps to interface with both the factory Harley-Davidson® signal harness ecosystem and aftermarket RCA sources through the same physical connector — the harness on the source side determines which path is used. The RCA2iM provides the RCA path; the factory HLI or direct-connect harnesses provide the H-D® path.
