The mid-bass cone is Carbon Matrix Composite™ (CMC™) — lightweight, rigid, and thermally stable. The 2.0-inch / 51mm Black Coat™ OFC copper voice coil handles sustained 250W RMS. The OFC copper shorting ring in the motor gap reduces inductance modulation distortion and extends upper-frequency response. The 4Ω impedance adds thermal headroom to both driver and amplifier while delivering the same 94 dB sensitivity and 70 Hz – 20 kHz range as the 2Ω variant. On the road: the same mid-bass character and output as the 14CXK65.2, with the amplifier running cooler on the front channels.
The tweeter is the same 1.0-inch shallow ring radiator horn at 107 dB — the tweeter impedance is 4Ω on both kit variants. The 12 dB passive crossover at 7 kHz is external, custom-tooled, vented, and encased — the tweeter attenuation (-3/-6 dB) adjustable at the crossover to balance the 107 dB tweeter against the 94 dB mid-bass.
