The Cicada Audio 14CXK65.4 is a complete 6.5-inch 4Ω passive component speaker kit – 250W RMS mid-bass, 200W RMS ring radiator horn tweeter, Carbon Matrix Composite™ (CMC™) cone, OFC copper shorting ring, Black Coat™ OFC 2.0-inch mid-bass voice coil, 12 dB external passive crossover at 7 kHz, and all-weather Rain or Shine™ construction throughout. Designed for 2014–2023 H-D factory fairing positions. Sold as a complete pair kit.
The 14CXK65.4 shares every construction element with the 14CXK65.2 – the same CMC™ mid-bass, the same 107 dB ring radiator horn tweeter, the same 12 dB passive crossover at 7 kHz, and direct-fit for the 2014–2023 H-D factory fairing position. The 4Ω mid-bass impedance presents a higher electrical load to the amplifier: lower current demand, reduced thermal stress, and compatibility with bridged configurations where a 4Ω minimum load is required.

What's Inside the 14CXK65.4
The 14CXK65.4 is identical in construction to the 14CXK65.2 – all construction notes below apply equally to both impedance variants.
The mid-bass cone is Carbon Matrix Composite™ (CMC™) – lightweight, rigid, and thermally stable. The 2.0-inch / 51mm Black Coat™ OFC copper voice coil handles sustained 250W RMS. The OFC copper shorting ring in the motor gap reduces inductance modulation distortion and extends upper-frequency response. The 4Ω impedance adds thermal headroom to both driver and amplifier while delivering the same 94 dB sensitivity and 70 Hz – 20 kHz range as the 2Ω variant. On the road: the same mid-bass character and output as the 14CXK65.2, with the amplifier running cooler on the front channels.
The tweeter is the same 1.0-inch shallow ring radiator horn at 107 dB – the tweeter impedance is 4Ω on both kit variants. The 12 dB passive crossover at 7 kHz is external, custom-tooled, vented, and encased – the tweeter attenuation (-3/-6 dB) adjustable at the crossover to balance the 107 dB tweeter against the 94 dB mid-bass.
Sensitivity and Frequency Coverage
At 94 dB mid-bass and 107 dB tweeter, the 14CXK65.4 matches the output of the 14CXK65.2 – impedance changes amplifier compatibility, not speaker performance. Frequency response runs 70 Hz – 20 kHz with the passive crossover managing the transition at 7 kHz. The 4Ω mid-bass impedance means the amplifier draws less current on the front channels – relevant in builds where total system current demand is a design consideration.
