700W 4-channel front-stage system for 2014–2023 Harley Touring — FLX700.4 amplifier, CXX65.2 Pro Coaxial speakers, model-specific fit

The Cicada Audio 14FLX7CXX-4X2 pairs the FLX700.4 4-channel Class-D amplifier with a matched pair of 2Ω CXX65.2 Pro Coaxial speakers for a high-output front-stage upgrade on 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring models. At 175W RMS per channel into 2Ω, the FLX700.4 delivers 40% more per-channel output than the FLX500.4 platform — driving the CXX65.2's Kevlar cone and N45H motor with genuine headroom at highway speed. Select your model variant — Road Glide or Street Glide — and the kit ships with the correct model-specific amplifier rack and Cicada Audio branded grilles.

This is a front-stage focused system — two CXX65.2 Pro Coaxial fairing speakers with a 4-channel amplifier that has spare channels ready for saddlebag lid speakers when you're ready to expand. For the bridged front-stage system with CXX65.4 speakers, see the 14FLXCXX-4X2. For the standard front-stage system with CX65.2 speakers, see the 14FLXCX-4X2.

Who This Is For

Riders on 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring platforms who want the Pro Coaxial front stage with the FLX700.4's increased per-channel output. The 14FLX7CXX-4X2 is the correct choice when CXX65.2 Pro Coaxial speakers and 175W per channel from the FLX700.4 are the priority. Every component is pre-matched and model-specific — select Road Glide or Street Glide at checkout and the correct rack and grilles are included.

What This Is Best For

  • 175W per channel — FLX700.4 headroom — the FLX700.4 delivers 175W RMS per channel into 2Ω — 40% more output than the FLX500.4 at the same compact chassis size. Driving the CXX65.2 at rated power, the front stage has headroom to stay clean at speeds where lesser systems are already clipping.
  • CXX65.2 Pro Coaxial — Kevlar cone, N45H motor, V8™ dispersion — the CXX65.2 uses a Kevlar cone in place of standard IMPP: stiffer, lighter, and more consistent at sustained output levels. The N45H neodymium motor delivers tighter voice coil control at high excursion, and the V8™ Dispersion Guide provides 360° tweeter projection. The best coaxial the 6.5″ fairing position supports.
  • Complete plug-and-play front-stage install — every required component is in the box: amplifier, speakers, power wiring, Harley-specific Molex® harnesses, model-specific amplifier rack, and branded fairing grilles. No sourcing individual parts, no compatibility research, no guesswork on installation day.
  • 4-channel amp with room to grow — the FLX700.4 is a full 4-channel amplifier. With two channels driving the front CXX65.2 speakers, channels 3 and 4 are available to add saddlebag lid speakers later without changing amps or re-running power wiring. Expand when you're ready; the infrastructure is already in place.
  • 8 AWG wiring — works with stock electrical — the included HDPG8K 8 AWG power and ground kit is correctly sized for the FLX700.4's current draw and works with the factory Harley charging system. No battery upgrade required for this system configuration.
  • Model-specific mounting hardware — the Road Glide variant includes the 14HDAR-RG amplifier rack and CHDRGG branded kidney grilles. The Street Glide variant includes the 14HDAR-SG rack and CHDSGG branded batwing grilles. Select your model at checkout — the correct hardware ships automatically.

Road Glide or Street Glide?

The amplifier, speakers, wiring, and harnesses are identical in both variants. What differs is the model-specific mounting hardware. The Road Glide variant includes the 14HDAR-RG amplifier rack and CHDRGG kidney grilles. The Street Glide variant includes the 14HDAR-SG amplifier rack and CHDSGG batwing grilles. Select the correct variant for your fairing platform before adding to cart. If you're unsure which model you have, the Road Glide has a shark-nose fairing; the Street Glide has a batwing fairing.

This System Requires a Radio Flash

Before installing any amplified audio upgrade on a 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring model, the factory Infotainment radio needs to be flashed. The stock firmware applies heavy EQ curves, dynamic compression, and output limiting tuned around the factory speaker system — these remain active after the amplifier is installed and will undercut everything this system does. Without the flash: bass collapses at volume, midrange becomes congested, highs turn brittle, and the FLX700.4 runs out of usable headroom well before its rated output. With the flash, the EQ and limiters are removed and the amplifier can do its job properly. A radio flash takes approximately 30 minutes and costs roughly $150–$300 AUD depending on provider. TechnoResearch is the most widely used option; any authorised Harley-Davidson® dealer with Screamin' Eagle® Flash tooling can also perform the service. The flash is required — not optional.

The Bottom Line

A complete, model-specific front-stage system — FLX700.4 amplifier, CXX65.2 2Ω Pro Coaxial speakers, 8 AWG wiring, Molex® harnesses, amplifier rack, and branded grilles — everything required for a clean, high-output fairing installation in one box. Select Road Glide or Street Glide above and add to cart. For the bridged front-stage system with CXX65.4 speakers, see the 14FLXCXX-4X2.

The FLX700.4 Amplifier

The FLX700.4 is a full 4-channel Class-D amplifier designed for Harley-Davidson® Touring fairing installations. At 175W RMS per channel into 2Ω, it delivers 40% more per-channel output than the FLX500.4 at the same compact chassis footprint — driving quality speakers with genuine headroom rather than running close to its limits at highway volume. On the road: the FLX700.4 drives the CXX65.2 speakers with headroom to spare at highway speed — at 100 km/h with wind and pipes, you're turning the volume up to reach the level you want, not maxing it out and still coming up short. The difference over a less capable amplifier is immediate.

With four amplified channels and two connected to the front CXX65.2 speakers, channels 3 and 4 are available to drive saddlebag lid speakers later — without replacing the amplifier or re-running the power supply wiring. For the complete front-and-rear system, see the 14FLXCXX-4X4.

The CXX65.2 Speakers

The CXX65.2 is Cicada Audio's 6.5″ Pro Coaxial speaker at 2Ω — the best coaxial the fairing position supports. The Kevlar cone is stiffer and lighter than IMPP, maintaining linear excursion at higher output levels and reducing cone flex that bleeds power into heat rather than sound. The N45H neodymium motor provides tighter voice coil control at high excursion, and the V8™ Dispersion Guide delivers 360° tweeter projection across the full listening area. On the road: the CXX65.2 projects vocals and midrange with more authority than the standard CX series — at highway speed, where the CX starts to lose intelligibility in the wind, the CXX maintains clarity further up the volume curve. Driven by the FLX700.4 at 175W per channel, the front stage has the output to stay clear above 100 km/h.

Why 8 AWG Wiring

The HDPG8K 8 AWG power and ground kit is correctly matched to the FLX700.4's current draw profile. At music-level signal demand, the FLX700.4 draws well within 8 AWG capacity, and the kit includes a correctly rated in-line fuse for the power feed run. Running 4 AWG wiring on a system that doesn't require it adds cost and installation complexity without benefit. On the road: no voltage drop, no thermal stress on the wiring, no need to return to the install to address an undersized supply. The HDPG8K is sized for this system and does the job cleanly.

Radio Flash — Required Before Installation

The 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Infotainment radio ships from the factory with firmware tuned around the stock speaker system. That firmware applies significant EQ curves to compensate for the limitations of factory speakers, dynamic compression to manage volume levels, bass roll-off as volume climbs, and output limiting that caps usable signal before the amplifier can act on it properly. None of this is removed when you add an amplifier — the processed, limited signal goes into the FLX700.4's input exactly as it came out of the head unit.

The result without a flash: the FLX700.4 amplifies a signal that has already been compressed, EQ-adjusted, and capped. Bass collapses at highway volume, midrange sounds congested, and the system runs out of headroom well before the amplifier's rated output. On the road: the performance gap between a flashed and unflashed Harley radio on this install is not subtle — it is the difference between the system working and the system not working.

With a flash, the EQ curves, compression, and limiters are removed. The radio sends a clean, unprocessed signal to the amplifier, and the FLX700.4 operates on signal it can actually work with. A radio flash takes approximately 30 minutes and costs around $150–$300 AUD depending on provider. TechnoResearch is the most widely used flash service for this application; any authorised Harley-Davidson® dealer with Screamin' Eagle® Flash tooling can also perform the service. Book the flash before or on the same day as installation.
