The Cicada Audio CHDCXXO is a passive crossover for CH and CHX series speakers – 4 kHz crossover point at 12 dB/octave with switchable –3 dB/–6 dB tweeter attenuation for level matching. Direct replacement for the stock CH/CHX crossover. Sold individually.
A failed or missing passive crossover in a CH or CHX speaker system results in the tweeter receiving full-range signal – leading to overload, distortion, or tweeter damage. The CHDCXXO is a direct-fit replacement built to the same crossover spec as the factory CH/CHX crossover, with the addition of switchable tweeter attenuation so the output level can be balanced to suit the install. Premium components keep signal loss minimal and the 4 kHz crossover point preserves the smooth frequency handoff between the woofer and tweeter that CH/CHX speakers are designed around.

What's Inside the CHDCXXO
The network is built to the same 4 kHz, 12 dB/octave specification as the factory CH/CHX crossover, using quality passive components chosen to keep signal loss across the network minimal. That crossover point is what keeps full-range signal off the tweeter and hands the top end over from the woofer where CH and CHX speakers are designed to do it. On the road: the tweeter receives the band it was built for rather than everything the amplifier sends.
Added to the factory specification is a switch for tweeter level, set at –3 dB or –6 dB. On the road: the top end can be trimmed to suit the install rather than left where the stock unit put it.
