542W × 4 Class-D amplifier for Harley-Davidson Touring — the highest-output compact FLX amplifier, lithium battery required

The Cicada Audio FLX2000.4 is the flagship 4-channel Class-D amplifier in the FLX compact range — delivering 542W × 4 RMS at 2Ω and 1,044W × 2 RMS bridged at 4Ω. Maximum output in the compact chassis format. Requires a lithium battery upgrade, 4 AWG power wiring, and a charging system capable of sustaining the load.

The FLX2000.4 is not an incremental step — it is the upper limit of what the compact FLX chassis format delivers. At 542W per channel into 2Ω speakers, or over 1,000W bridged into a single driver pair, this amplifier requires infrastructure that most motorcycles don't have from the factory. A lithium battery upgrade is necessary to supply the current demand; 4 AWG power and ground wiring is required from supply to amplifier. For the build where none of that is a constraint — and maximum output is the objective — this is the amp.

Who This Is For

For riders who have already committed to the full electrical infrastructure required and are building the highest-output system the compact FLX chassis format allows. The FLX2000.4 is the step up from the FLX1400.4 for builds where 350W per channel is the ceiling that needs to be broken, and where the electrical upgrade required is already part of the plan.

What This Is Best For

  • Maximum-output coaxial or pro-audio driver builds — 542W per channel drives the highest-sensitivity pro-audio coaxials and component drivers at volume levels that no other compact motorcycle amp can reach. The system acoustic limits, not the amplifier, become the ceiling.
  • Bridged stage at over 1,000W — 1,044W × 2 at 4Ω bridged is the specification for a single dedicated subwoofer or mid-bass enclosure requiring maximum excursion control and dynamic headroom. No other compact motorcycle amplifier delivers this bridged output.
  • Builds with a lithium battery upgrade already in place — the FLX2000.4's current demand requires a lithium battery that can sustain high-current discharge without voltage sag. For builds where that upgrade is already done, this amplifier uses the available capacity correctly.
  • Dual-amp high-output systems — paired with a second amplifier and the HDPG2KD dual-amp wiring kit, the FLX2000.4 anchors a multi-amp install where total system output is the design brief.
  • Show builds and competition-level installs — where electrical infrastructure is purpose-built for the audio system, and output capability is the primary specification.

Electrical Infrastructure Required — Lithium Battery + 4 AWG Wiring

The FLX2000.4 requires a lithium battery upgrade, 4 AWG power and ground wiring, and a charging system capable of sustaining the load at music-level draw. A standard factory Harley lead-acid battery and charging system are not adequate for this amplifier at rated output. A 120A fuse is required on the power feed. Before purchasing, confirm your electrical infrastructure meets these requirements.

The HDPG4K 4 AWG power and ground kit is the correct wiring solution for this application.

The Bottom Line

The highest-output amplifier in the FLX compact range — 542W × 4 at 2Ω, 1,044W × 2 bridged, in a chassis designed for Harley-Davidson Touring amp tray positions. For builds with the electrical infrastructure to match. Ready to upgrade? Add to cart above. For the highest-output compact amp without the lithium battery requirement, the FLX1400.4 delivers 350W × 4 at 2Ω with 4 AWG wiring but no lithium upgrade required. For wiring infrastructure, the HDPG4K is the correct 4 AWG power and ground kit for this amplifier.

Power Output — What the Numbers Mean

The FLX2000.4 is rated at two supply voltages. At 14.4V — a fully charged, engine-running system with a lithium battery — the amp delivers 331W × 4 at 4Ω and 542W × 4 at 2Ω. At 12.5V — the lower end of a system under heavy load — output drops to 275W × 4 at 4Ω and 450W × 4 at 2Ω. The 2Ω figures at 14.4V drive the product name: 542W × 4 yields approximately 2,000W total RMS at rated voltage.

Bridged, the amp produces 1,044W × 2 at 4Ω at 14.4V (866W × 2 at 12.5V) — the configuration for a dedicated subwoofer, high-excursion mid-bass driver, or two-channel front stage requiring maximum per-channel output. At 4Ω bridged, the amplifier sees a 2Ω load per side — within the FLX2000.4's rated bridged impedance specification. A lithium battery is particularly important in bridged configurations where sustained current demand is highest. On the road: bridged at 1,044W into a Tour-Pak subwoofer, voltage sag from a lead-acid battery will compress dynamic peaks and reduce effective output — a lithium battery maintains stable supply voltage under the kind of sustained current draw the FLX2000.4 generates.

Crossover and Signal Control

The FLX2000.4 runs HPF, LPF, or Full Range crossover modes with a frequency range of 30 Hz–300 Hz and a fixed 12 dB per octave slope. This covers the primary use cases for a high-power 4-channel motorcycle amp — high-pass filtering for fairing speakers, low-pass filtering for a rear mid-bass or subwoofer channel, and full-range operation for coaxial speakers. The 12 dB/octave slope is well-matched to coaxial and mid-bass builds.

For builds requiring steeper driver-separation slopes between dedicated tweeter and midrange drivers, the FLX700.4's crossover architecture handles that role at 175W × 4 with slopes up to 48 dB/octave. The FLX2000.4 is the choice when maximum output for high-sensitivity coaxial and mid-bass builds is the sole priority. Input sensitivity runs 0.2V–12V, covering both OEM Harley signal levels and standard RCA output from aftermarket head units.

System Integration

The FLX2000.4 accepts high-level speaker output from the factory Harley Boom! Box radio directly — no additional converter required for 2014–2023 models — or low-level RCA from any aftermarket head unit. Turn-on supports REM and DC offset modes. DC offset turn-on is useful on older Harley platforms where routing a clean remote wire to the factory head unit is not practical.

At 60A music-level current draw, the FLX2000.4 exceeds the sustained output capacity of most factory Harley charging systems and lead-acid batteries. A lithium battery upgrade is required to supply the current demand without voltage sag at rated output. Maximum draw is 240A; a 120A fuse is required on the power feed. The HDPG4K 4 AWG power and ground kit is the correct wiring solution for this amplifier — 4 AWG is the minimum wire gauge for the power and ground run from the supply to the amp.

The FLX2000.4 does not include onboard DSP. For builds requiring time alignment, multi-band EQ, or advanced signal routing, pair with a dedicated DSP processor upstream of the amp inputs.

2024+ Platform Notes

For 2023.5 CVO and 2024+ Harley-Davidson Touring models running Skyline OS, the FLX2000.4 can be integrated as part of an aftermarket audio system when paired with a NAV-TV ZEN-H or ZEN-H Pro. The ZEN-H / ZEN-H Pro handles the Skyline OS signal interface — the FLX2000.4 then receives the processed output and powers the speakers downstream from it. Without a NAV-TV ZEN-H or ZEN-H Pro, integration with a 2023.5 CVO or 2024+ Harley is not supported. For 2014–2023 models (excluding 2023.5 CVO), the high-level input connects directly to the factory Boom! Box radio.
