Convert 1998 to 2013 Harley saddlebag lids from 5x7 to full-size 6x9 speakers
This 5x7 to 6x9 Speaker Adapter Kit replaces the factory 5x7 saddlebag lid openings on a 1998 to 2013 Harley-Davidson® Touring bike with a rigid, acoustically stable mount for full-size 6x9 speakers. Upgrading the rear from 5x7 to 6x9 is one of the biggest single jumps in rear-stage output and midbass you can make on an early Touring bike. Sold as a pair with mounting hardware.
This is a mounting adapter, not a speaker. It opens up the larger 6x9 speaker choice on pre-2014 lids that were only ever cut for the smaller 5x7 driver.
Who This Is For
You ride a 1998 to 2013 Touring bike with factory or aftermarket 5x7 saddlebag lids and you want the stronger rear stage that 6x9 speakers give. These adapters make it a clean, factory-style install. Fit them with a 6x9 driver such as the Cicada CX69.4 or the Velocity RZ69H, and seal the lid with a set of rigid 6x9 lid baffles.
What This Is Best For
- A major rear-stage upgrade. 6x9 speakers have far more cone area than a 5x7, so the jump in output and midbass is dramatic on an older Touring bike.
- A rigid, crack-free mount. The non-resonant adapter carries the larger, heavier speaker without the flex and cracking that oversized drivers cause in a bare lid.
- Matching a modern front stage. Stronger rear fill lets the back of the bike keep up with an upgraded fairing stage rather than lagging behind it.
- Keeping serviceability. The adapter installs cleanly into the lid and keeps the speaker removable for service.
Check your lids and seal the enclosure
This kit fits 1998 to 2013 Touring saddlebag lids with 5x7 openings, factory or aftermarket. It does not fit 2014 and newer lids, which use a different opening. For proper midbass, seal the lid behind the speaker with a set of 6x9 lid baffles, since an unsealed lid loses low end. Tell us your bike and lid style if you want it confirmed.

Why a rigid adapter
A 6x9 speaker is larger and heavier than the 5x7 it replaces, and a bare lid opening flexes under it. The rigid, non-resonant adapter plates spread the load and hold the driver steady. On the road: the rear stays tight and rattle-free at volume instead of the lid flexing and cracking around an oversized speaker.
