Horn-loaded rear stage that reaches the rider — all-weather 6×9" 2Ω coaxial for motorcycle saddlebag lid positions
The Precision Power HTW.692 is a 6×9" 2Ω horn-loaded coaxial speaker for saddlebag lid and aftermarket 6×9" enclosure positions on Harley-Davidson® and Indian® Touring models. A horn-loaded titanium tweeter provides forward-directional high-frequency output with more throw and projection than a conventional dome can achieve from a low-mounted saddlebag position — getting the rear stage audible to the rider at highway speed. A polypropylene cone with Santoprene surround and ABS/fibreglass basket are built for all-weather riding under Precision Power's Rain or Shine™ design standard. A 6×9" lid kit is required — factory Harley-Davidson® saddlebag lids are not pre-cut for speakers.
Saddlebag speakers face a harder projection challenge than fairing speakers. Mounted low on the bike and angled outward, they have to project sound upward and forward to reach the rider — a greater throw distance with a worse starting angle, at the same highway speed noise floor. A standard dome tweeter in this position struggles to deliver high-frequency content that survives the journey to the rider's ears. A horn-loaded tweeter focuses the high-frequency energy forward and narrows the dispersion pattern — more of what the speaker produces goes where the rider is, rather than sideways into the wind. The HTW.692 applies this principle to the 6×9" saddlebag lid format with genuine all-weather construction.
Who This Is For
Riders installing 6×9" speakers in saddlebag lid kits on Harley-Davidson® Touring or Indian® models who want horn-loaded high-frequency projection from the rear stage at highway speed. A compatible 6×9" lid kit is required — see the Precision Power HD14.SBS (2014+) or HD13.SBS (1998–2013). For a matched 2Ω front stage, pair with the HTW.652. For the 4Ω variant, see the HTW.694. For maximum-output horn-loaded rear stage performance, see the MAS.692HT.
What This Is Best For
- Horn-loaded rear-stage projection from saddlebag positions — The horn-loaded tweeter focuses high-frequency output forward from a low-mounted, outward-angled saddlebag position — providing more throw and audibility to the rider at speed than a conventional dome can achieve from the same mounting location.
- All-weather construction for saddlebag environments — The Santoprene surround resists the moisture, temperature cycling, and road exposure of a saddlebag lid installation. The ABS/fibreglass basket handles sustained vibration and UV exposure without cracking. Rain or Shine™ weather-resistant construction throughout.
- 2Ω impedance for maximum rear-stage output — The 2Ω load draws more current from factory head units and compact motorcycle amplifiers, delivering more rear-stage volume from the same power source. For amplified builds, confirm your amplifier is 2Ω-stable before pairing.
- Compatible with standard 6×9" lid kits — The HTW.692 suits Precision Power HD14.SBS (2014+) and HD13.SBS (1998–2013) saddlebag lid kits, and other aftermarket 6×9" motorcycle saddlebag lid systems. No grilles included — the speaker works within the lid kit's existing surround or grille.
Lid kit required. The HTW.692 is a 6×9" saddlebag speaker — it does not fit into factory Harley-Davidson® standard saddlebag lids without a lid kit. Compatible lid kits include the Precision Power HD14.SBS (2014+) and HD13.SBS (1998–2013).
4Ω variant available. If your amplifier is optimised for 4Ω loads, the HTW.694 is the matching 4Ω speaker. Check your amplifier's minimum impedance rating before selecting a variant.
For maximum-output amplified rear stages, the MAS.692HT offers a ring radiator horn construction, 150W RMS handling, and bi-amp capability for premium rear-stage builds.

The Bottom Line
The HTW.692 is the horn-loaded rear-stage speaker for riders who want the saddlebag lid position to actually deliver at highway speed. The horn-loaded tweeter provides the directional forward throw the mounting position demands, the Santoprene construction handles the weather and vibration of long-distance riding, and the 2Ω impedance keeps output up from factory or compact amp sources. Pair with a 6×9" lid kit and a matched front stage for a complete system.
For 4Ω systems, see the HTW.694. For a matched front stage, see the HTW.652 (2Ω) or HTW.654 (4Ω). For the 2014+ lid kit, see the HD14.SBS. For the Atom Mini amplifier, see the MAA4.400.
What's Inside
Horn-loaded titanium tweeter. The HTW.692 uses a titanium tweeter mounted within a horn waveguide that focuses high-frequency output forward from the saddlebag lid position. The horn geometry concentrates the tweeter's energy toward the rider rather than allowing it to disperse sideways — a particularly important advantage in a low-mounted, outward-angled saddlebag installation where the straight-line path from speaker to rider is longer than in a fairing position and the surrounding acoustic environment is more hostile. Titanium provides the stiffness and low mass required for extended high-frequency response without colouration.
Polypropylene cone with Santoprene surround. A polypropylene woofer cone handles midrange and bass, co-moulded with a Santoprene surround. Santoprene is a thermoplastic rubber that maintains its elasticity across the temperature swings and moisture exposure of open-air riding — resisting the degradation that affects foam and rubber surrounds in saddlebag lid installations exposed to rain, road spray, and heat cycling over time.
High-output neodymium motor. A neodymium magnet motor delivers a high force factor in a compact form factor, keeping mounting depth within the clearance constraints of standard 6×9" saddlebag lid kits while delivering the efficiency that supports the HTW.692's 92 dB sensitivity.
ABS/fibreglass basket. The glass fibre reinforced ABS basket is dimensionally stable under motorcycle vibration loads, UV-resistant, and unaffected by corrosion in the weathered environment of a saddlebag lid installation. No grilles are included; the HTW.692 is used within the lid kit's existing grille or surround.
Integrated high-pass crossover. An internal crossover network manages frequency distribution between the woofer and horn-loaded tweeter, protecting the tweeter from low-frequency excursion and maintaining tonal balance across the operating range.
Sensitivity and Frequency Coverage
At 92 dB (1W/1m), the HTW.692 delivers strong rear-stage output from factory head units and compact amplifier channels. The 60 Hz – 20 kHz frequency response extends lower than the 6.5" HTW.652, reflecting the larger cone area of the 6×9" driver and the enclosure volume provided by the saddlebag lid cavity. A high-pass crossover at the amplifier above 60 Hz is recommended to protect the woofer from excessive low-frequency excursion at sustained high volumes.
Why 2Ω
A 2Ω speaker draws more current from the source amplifier than a 4Ω speaker at the same volume setting — delivering more usable rear-stage output from factory Boom!™ Box head units and compact motorcycle amplifiers. For amplified systems, confirm your amplifier is rated as 2Ω-stable before pairing with the HTW.692. For systems where 4Ω stability is preferred, the HTW.694 is the matching 4Ω variant.
Fitment
The HTW.692 requires a 6×9" saddlebag lid cut-in — it does not fit into factory Harley-Davidson® standard saddlebag lids without a lid kit. Compatible lid kits include Precision Power HD14.SBS (2014+) and HD13.SBS (1998–2013), and other aftermarket 6×9" saddlebag lid systems.
