The SounDigital EVO PS 1200.4 is a four-channel Class-D amplifier delivering up to 300W RMS per channel, or 600W RMS per side bridged, from a chassis of 166 x 149 x 62mm (6.5 x 5.8 x 2.4 in). It is built to run a complete Harley-Davidson Touring speaker system, front fairing and saddlebag lids, or a bridged mid-bass build, from one compact amplifier. High and low level inputs, locked gain, and full protection circuitry are standard.
The 1200.4 is the middle four-channel amplifier in the EVO PS range. It gives you real headroom over the entry EVO PS 800.4 while staying compact, and it steps below the EVO PS 2000.4 for builds that do not need 500W a channel. If your priority is bass rather than a speaker stage, the mono EVO PS 1200.1 is the amplifier you want.
Who This Is For
You are running a four-speaker Harley Touring build: a front fairing pair and a saddlebag pair, or a front stage plus a bridged mid-bass load. The 1200.4 has the per-channel power for pro-audio coaxials and horn-loaded speakers that a factory amp cannot drive. If you want the maximum output for high-efficiency SPL drivers, step up to the EVO PS 2000.4; if you are only powering a front pair, the EVO PS 800.4 is enough.

Matching the version and the charging system
The 1200.4 comes in a 2 ohm and a 4 ohm version. The 4 ohm version delivers 4 x 198W at 4 ohm and 4 x 300W at 2 ohm; the 2 ohm version reaches 4 x 300W at 1 ohm and 2 x 600W bridged at 2 ohm. Match the version to your speaker impedance so the amplifier makes its rated power. Current draw is around 50A during music and up to 101A maximum, with a 60A music fuse, so on a four-speaker build fit a proper power and ground kit such as the Cicada HDPG4K 4 AWG kit. Inside the EVO PS 1200.4
The amplifier uses a Class-D output stage across all four channels. Class-D efficiency is what lets a 1200W four-channel amplifier fit inside a fairing or under a seat without a heat problem, because the current it draws becomes output rather than warmth. On the road: the amp holds its output through stop-start summer traffic where a less efficient design would heat-soak and pull back.
Signal control comes from a damping factor of 200 and a signal-to-noise ratio of 88dB. The damping figure keeps cone movement tight on the mid-bass channels, and the low noise floor keeps the front stage clean at the low listening levels you use around town. On the road: the system stays composed at a walking-pace cruise and controlled when you open it up on the highway.
Why per-channel power matters on a Harley
A factory Boom! head unit amplifier gives each speaker a fraction of the power a pro-audio driver is designed for. The 1200.4 supplies up to 300W a channel, which is what horn-loaded and SPL coaxials need to reach their rated output and cut through wind and exhaust noise at highway speed. Feed the front stage the power it wants and the difference in clarity above 100km/h is immediate. For the biggest drivers, the EVO PS 2000.4 adds another 200W a channel.
