The SounDigital EVO PS 800.1 is a single-channel Class-D amplifier that delivers up to 800W RMS from a chassis of just 144 x 130 x 56mm (5.7 x 5.1 x 2.2 in). It is built to power one job well: a saddlebag subwoofer or a dedicated mid-bass stage on a Harley-Davidson Touring bike, in the tightest install SounDigital offers. Locked gain, high and low level inputs, and full protection circuitry are standard.
The 800.1 is the entry point in the EVO PS mono range. Step up to the EVO PS 1200.1 for 1200W into a single 4 ohm sub, or the EVO PS 2400.1 when you want maximum bass output from one amplifier. If you need to drive front and rear speakers instead of bass, the four-channel EVO PS 800.4 is the amplifier you want.

Choosing the 2 ohm or 4 ohm version
The 800.1 is offered in a 2 ohm and a 4 ohm version, and they hit 800W RMS at different loads. The 2 ohm version produces 528W into 4 ohms and the full 800W into a 2 ohm load, so it suits a single 2 ohm sub or two 4 ohm drivers wired in parallel. The 4 ohm version produces the full 800W into a 4 ohm load, which suits a single 4 ohm sub or a series-wired pair. Match the version to your speaker load before you order. Inside the EVO PS 800.1
The amplifier uses a full-range Class-D output stage restricted here to low-frequency duty. Class-D converts more of the current the alternator supplies into output and less into heat, which is why an 800W amplifier can live inside a sealed fairing without cooking. On the road: the amp holds its output through a hot Australian summer run instead of pulling back into protection when a linear amplifier would be heat-soaked.
Power delivery is governed by a damping factor of 200. Damping factor describes how tightly the amplifier controls cone movement, and a higher figure means the sub stops and starts on cue rather than ringing on after the note. On the road: kick drum and bass lines stay tight and defined at highway speed instead of turning into one-note boom.
Why current draw and fusing matter
The 800.1 draws 32A during music and up to 65A at maximum, with a recommended music fuse of 40A. Those numbers sit comfortably within a healthy Harley charging system on a single-amp build, which is what makes this the sensible starting point for a first bass stage. If you later add a second amplifier, upgrade the power and ground with a kit such as the Cicada HDPG4K 4 AWG kit so both amps see stable voltage.
