The 6.5 inch full-range horn-loaded coaxial for a Harley front stage that beats wind noise
The Velocity RZ65H is a full-range 6.5 inch horn-loaded coaxial speaker rated at 300W power handling, engineered by American Hard Bag for maximum forward projection on Harley-Davidson Touring bikes. It combines a high-efficiency midrange cone with a horn-loaded tweeter, so a single driver gives you the clarity of a component set in fairings, lower fairings and Tour-Pak pods. Sold individually.
The RZ65H is the 6.5 inch horn coaxial in the Velocity range. For a saddlebag or 6x9 location, the Velocity RZ69H is the 6x9 version. For a separate mid and horn tweeter build, look at the OverDrive RZ65-OD component set.
Who This Is For
You want loud, clear front-stage sound from a single speaker per location, without wiring a separate tweeter and crossover. The RZ65H suits Street Glide® and Road Glide® fairings, lower fairings and Tour-Pak pods on a touring or SPL-style build running 150W to 300W RMS per channel. If you want to run a dedicated mid and a separate horn tweeter for maximum front-stage control, the RZ65-OD component set is the alternative.
What This Is Best For
- A horn-loaded fairing upgrade. The horn geometry focuses sound forward toward you rather than scattering it, which is exactly what a batwing or sharknose fairing needs to stay intelligible at highway speed.
- A single-speaker install. The full-range coaxial design removes the need for a separate component tweeter and crossover, so you get high-frequency clarity from one drop-in driver.
- High output per watt. A high-efficiency motor turns amplifier power into volume effectively, so the RZ65H pairs naturally with a strong two-channel amp such as the Velocity RZA500.2.
- Real motorcycle conditions. Built for vibration, airflow and open-air exposure, so it holds up to the environment a fairing speaker actually lives in.
Match the amplifier to the RZ65H
The RZ65H handles up to 300W and rewards a proper amplifier: plan for 150W to 300W RMS per channel to hear what a horn-loaded coaxial can do. A factory Boom! head unit amp will run it, but will not bring out the projection the horn is built for. Pair it with the two-channel RZA500.2 for a front stage, or the four-channel RZA1000.4 for a full front and rear system.
The Bottom Line
The Velocity RZ65H is the speaker to choose when you want horn-loaded projection and component-level clarity from a single 6.5 inch driver that drops into a Harley fairing, lower or Tour-Pak pod. Add it to cart above. For the 6x9 saddlebag version, see the RZ69H, and finish the fairing with Velocity fairing grilles.

Inside the RZ65H
The driver pairs a high-efficiency lightweight composite midrange cone with an integrated horn-loaded HF driver. The lightweight cone responds quickly for strong vocals and mid-bass, while the horn loads the tweeter to project the top end forward. On the road: vocals and detail stay out in front of you instead of being lost to wind and exhaust at 100km/h.
The value of horn loading is directivity. A horn concentrates high-frequency energy in a controlled forward pattern rather than radiating it in all directions. On the road: more of the treble reaches your ears in an open cockpit, so the system sounds clear at speed without simply turning everything up.
Why full-range horn coaxial over a component set
A full-range horn coaxial puts the mid and the horn tweeter on one axis in one opening, so you get most of a component system's clarity with a fraction of the install work and no separate crossover to mount. For builders who want to tune the mid and tweeter independently, the OverDrive RZ65-OD component set separates the two. For most fairing upgrades, the RZ65H is the faster path to horn-loaded sound.
