A 2014 to 2023 Street Glide (FLHX, FLHXS) can give you these positions, depending on how the bike is equipped:
- Inner fairing (front zone): the 2014-2023 batwing fairing accepts a nominal 6.5-inch aftermarket speaker, one per side, the primary front source and most important upgrade position, although the original factory driver and mounting arrangement vary with the audio package. Basket depth, magnet clearance, grille depth and mounting hardware still need checking for the specific speaker.
- Saddlebag lids (rear zone): not every Street Glide has saddlebag speakers. The Component Front Stage: CHDSGGTK Grille Tweeter Kit
This is the upgrade most Street Glide riders do not know about. The CHDSGGTK Street Glide Grille Tweeter Kit ($600) replaces the factory fairing grilles with custom-punched grilles incorporating separate RR075T tweeters. The mid-bass stays in the 6.5-inch fairing position, and it is designed to pair with Cicada CM65X mid-bass drivers.
Separating the tweeter from the mid-bass can improve high-frequency projection and gives more control over front-stage balance; the final imaging still depends on crossover settings, levels, polarity and tuning. The included 12 dB passive crossover high-passes and protects the tweeter, so the mid-bass and tweeter on each side can share one amplifier channel without an active DSP just to operate them. The mid-bass still needs suitable high-pass filtering at the bottom of its range. In this passive configuration a DSP can high-pass and EQ the combined front channel, but it cannot independently level-match or time-align the tweeter and mid-bass; that requires a fully active system with a separate amplifier and DSP channel per driver. The combined-channel high-pass and EQ can come from the built-in DSP in an FLX700.4PRO or FLX1400.4PRO, or from a standalone HKI Mini DSP or DSP412PRO ahead of a standard FLX amplifier.
14CXK65 vs CHDSGGTK: Don't Buy Two Tweeter Systems

Saddlebag speakers are not standard on every Street Glide, and the right speaker depends entirely on the lid fitted.
No speaker lids: the bike has solid lids and no rear speakers. Adding rear audio means fitting speaker lids or a cut-in kit, plus the wiring, rear-channel configuration and amplification to drive them.
Factory-style 5x7 lids
Street Glides with genuine Harley-Davidson factory speaker lids generally use a 5x7-inch speaker. The Cicada CXX57.2 (2Ω) or CXX57.4 (4Ω) is the appropriate starting point, subject to impedance, wiring and factory audio package. Boom! Stage II and CVO systems may use bi-amp wiring, and some CVO lid baskets may require modification, so even these are not universally drop-in.
Aftermarket 6x9 lids or a conversion
For standard 2014-2023 FLHX and FLHXS factory-style lids, a 6x9 is an aftermarket path requiring compatible replacement 6x9 lids, a 6x9 cut-in kit or a purpose-built conversion. The redesigned CVO Street Glide is factory-equipped with 5x7 saddlebag speakers, but its redesigned lids also accept Harley-Davidson's model-specific Stage III 6x9 speakers as a direct upgrade, so CVO fitment is separate. Note that the factory Stage III 6x9 fitting a redesigned CVO opening does not mean every aftermarket 6x9 shares those mounting provisions. Once the correct lids or conversion hardware are fitted, the Cicada CX69, CXX69 and CHX69 ranges become relevant.

1998 to 2013 Batwing Touring (5.25-Inch)
Batwing Touring models from 1998 to 2013 (Electra Glide, Ultra, and Street Glide from 2006) generally have a 5.25-inch inner-fairing cutout rather than 6.5-inch. 2024+ Street Glide (Skyline OS)
The 2024-and-later Street Glide is a different platform on Skyline OS, and it changes several things:
- Front fairing: the standard bike runs two 5.25-inch factory fairing speakers in a 6.5-inch opening, so a 6.5-inch aftermarket speaker is a direct-fit upgrade (check depth), the same logic as the earlier platform.
- Saddlebags: the standard 2024+ Street Glide ships with fairing speakers only, so there is no universal factory saddlebag speaker; where speaker lids are fitted, confirm the lid generation and opening. The CVO Street Glide is different, with factory 6.5-inch fairing speakers plus 5x7 saddlebag speakers, and is a multi-zone, factory-amplified build to plan separately.
- Component tweeter: the 24CHDSGGTK-05 grille tweeter kit fits the 2024+ grille positions, and Cicada's model-specific 24CXK65SG front component kit and 24CXK69 rear kit are built for the platform. Confirm the exact kit for your bike.

Recommended Build Paths for Street Glide
Stage 1 (front speakers only): upgrade the fairing speakers, matching impedance to the radio or amplifier actually fitted. If the bike already has powered factory 5x7 speaker lids, a compatible CXX57 upgrade can be added, after confirming standard coaxial or bi-amp wiring.
Stage 2 (four-speaker amplified system): add an amplifier and choose the rear speakers by the actual lid configuration (CXX57 for compatible 5x7 lids, or CX69 / CXX69 for aftermarket 6x9 lids or a conversion). Pair with an FLX700.4 or FLX1000.4.
Stage 3 (component front stage plus rear): a CM65X mid-bass in the fairing with the CHDSGGTK tweeters, plus rear speakers in compatible lids. Two ways to power it:
- Passive front component: using the 4Ω CM65.4X and the supplied tweeter crossover, one channel of a four-channel amp such as the FLX1400.4 powers each front component side, leaving two channels for the rear. - Fully active front component: each mid-bass and tweeter gets its own channel, so a front pair plus rears is six amplified channels total. The FLX1400.4PRO's four amplified channels and two processed pass-throughs can supply the additional processed signals, but the pass-throughs still require a second amplifier to power them.
