Road Glide speakers in this collection are intended for a compatible position on a 2015 to 2023 Harley-Davidson Road Glide®. The standard upgrade for the Sharknose inner fairing is a purpose-built 6.5 inch driver — but that is the upgrade size, not the size Harley fitted at the factory. Three different things — and only one of them answers "what size speaker do I buy?"
- The factory driver size. Most standard 2015 to 2023 Road Glide® models left the factory with a 5.25 inch inner fairing speaker. Some CVO and higher-specification factory audio packages used 6.5 inch.
- The factory mounting architecture. The frame-mounted Sharknose fairing has its own enclosure and mounting arrangement, which is why speakers are built specifically for it rather than shared with the batwing.
- The upgrade size that fits that architecture. A 6.5 inch speaker designed for this fairing is the standard upgrade, usually with the correct adapter, bracket or grille depending on the product.
"A purpose-built 6.5 inch speaker fits this fairing" is not the same statement as "the factory speaker was 6.5 inch". Both directions cost money: assuming the factory driver was 6.5 inch leads to the wrong part, and assuming every bike in these years is 5.25 inch gets the CVO and higher-spec bikes wrong.

The inner fairing speaker sits at a slight angle rather than straight at you, so sensitivity matters as much as power. A higher sensitivity driver, measured in dB per watt, gives more usable output from the same amplifier power than a lower sensitivity one. Impedance matters too, and how it plays out depends on your amplifier. When two amplifier channels are bridged into one speaker, many motorcycle amps require a 4Ω speaker or combined 4Ω load, though the amplifier's published bridged rating must always be checked. In normal stereo operation, an amplifier rated as 2Ω-stable per channel makes its most output into a 2Ω speaker on each channel. What size speakers fit the 2015 to 2023 Road Glide?
For the inner fairing, a purpose-built 6.5 inch speaker made for the Sharknose fairing is the standard upgrade. That is not the same as the factory size: most standard Road Glide® models of these years came with a 5.25 inch fairing driver, while some CVO and higher-specification factory audio packages used 6.5 inch. Was my factory fairing speaker 6.5 inch?
Probably not. On most standard 2015 to 2023 Road Glide® models the factory inner fairing driver was 5.25 inch. Some CVO and higher-specification factory systems did use 6.5 inch. Either way, a 6.5 inch speaker purpose-built for this fairing is the normal upgrade — you do not need the factory driver to have been 6.5 inch for a 6.5 inch upgrade to be correct. Does my bike have a saddlebag speaker position?
Check before you buy. On 2015 to 2023 Road Glide® models a saddlebag lid speaker was effectively a CVO-tier feature — an ordinary Road Glide left the factory with no saddlebag speaker opening at all. Where the factory did fit one, the driver was 5x7 inch, not 6x9. To add 6x9 speakers to solid lids you need either replacement speaker lids or a cut-in lid kit.
Should I choose a 2Ω or 4Ω speaker?
Match it to your amplifier. If you plan to bridge two amplifier channels into one speaker, many motorcycle amps require a 4Ω speaker or combined 4Ω load. In normal stereo operation, an amp rated 2Ω-stable per channel can run one 2Ω speaker on each channel for more output. Always check the amplifier's minimum stereo and bridged impedance before choosing, and if you are unsure, tell us your amp.
Do these speakers need an amplifier?

Can I run front and rear speakers together?
Yes, provided the bike has, or is given, a rear speaker position. A common Road Glide build pairs 6.5 inch fairing speakers with rear saddlebag drivers on a four-channel amplifier — on solid lids that means fitting speaker lids or a cut-in kit first.
