DSP-controlled front stage — the FLX1400.4PRO amplifier paired with CHX65.2 horn coaxials for 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson Touring
The Cicada Audio 14FLXPCHX-4X2 pairs the FLX1400.4PRO 4-channel DSP amplifier with a matched pair of 2Ω CHX65.2 horn coaxial speakers in the front fairing — Cicada Audio's highest-specification coaxial driver, run at full power from a DSP-controlled amplifier with onboard tuning via the DIALD™ app. At 350W RMS per channel into 2Ω, the FLX1400.4PRO drives the CHX65.2 pair to its full output potential, while the integrated 6-channel DSP handles crossover, equalisation and time alignment without any external processor.
This is the DSP-amplified counterpart to the 14FLXCHX-4X2 — same CHX65.2 front speakers, stepped up from the standard FLX1400.4 amplifier to the FLX1400.4PRO's onboard DSP and DIALD™ tuning. If you also want matched horn coaxials in the saddlebag lids and a full front-to-rear DSP-tuned stage, the 14FLXPCHX-4X4 is the Level 5 PRO full-stage version of this same platform.
Who This Is For
The 14FLXPCHX-4X2 is for the rider who wants the highest-output front stage Cicada Audio builds for the factory fairing positions, with full control over how it's tuned. The CHX65.2 is a 2Ω driver — it needs an amplifier that can deliver real current into that load, and the FLX1400.4PRO is built for exactly that. Pair that with onboard DSP and Bluetooth tuning via DIALD™, and you get a system that can be dialled in to the cabin — crossover point, slope, EQ and level — without an external processor or laptop tuning rig.
What This Is Best For
- Maximum output from the factory fairing positions — 350W RMS × 2 into the CHX65.2 pair is well beyond what a standard 4Ω amplifier and coaxial pairing can deliver from the same mounting locations.
- Riders who want to tune their own system — the FLX1400.4PRO's DIALD™ app gives you crossover, EQ and level control from a phone over Bluetooth, with no external DSP or computer required.
- A clean two-channel front stage without a separate rear system — if you're not chasing saddlebag lid speakers, this is the highest-output, most controllable front-only configuration in the range.
- Upgraders coming from a standard amplifier and coaxial setup — stepping up from the 14FLXCHX-4X2 to this DSP-amplified version is the most direct way to add tuning control and headroom to the same speaker platform.
Road Glide or Street Glide?
This bundle is built to order for either the Road Glide® or Street Glide® fairing. The amplifier rack, grille style and harness routing differ between the two models, so select the correct variant above before ordering — the Road Glide® variant ships with the 14HDAR-RG rack and CHDRGG kidney grilles, while the Street Glide® variant ships with the 14HDAR-SG mount and CHDSGG round grilles.
This System Requires a Radio Flash
The FLX1400.4PRO integrates with the Harley-Davidson factory infotainment system, and that integration requires your radio's firmware to be flashed before installation. This is not optional — an unflashed radio will not pass audio correctly to the amplifier. See the Radio Flash section below for what's involved and how to arrange it.
The Bottom Line
The 14FLXPCHX-4X2 is the highest-output, most tunable front stage Cicada Audio offers for the 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson Touring fairing — a 2Ω CHX65.2 horn coaxial pair driven by the DSP-equipped FLX1400.4PRO at 350W RMS per channel, tuned over Bluetooth via the DIALD™ app, and built to order for either the Road Glide® or Street Glide® with model-specific mounting and grilles included. FLX1400.4PRO — DSP amplification with phone-based tuning
The FLX1400.4PRO is a 4-channel Class-D amplifier built around an integrated 6-channel DSP — four amplified channels and two line-level pass-through channels for further expansion. In this bundle, it drives the CHX65.2 pair at 350W RMS per channel into their full 2Ω load, with the onboard processor handling crossover point, slope (selectable from 6 dB/oct up to a steep 48 dB/oct), equalisation, time alignment and channel level. Tuning is done over Bluetooth through Cicada's DIALD™ app — no external processor, laptop or tuning rig required. On the road: you can adjust the front stage's tonal balance from your phone while the bike is parked, rather than relying on a generic factory preset or a one-size-fits-all passive crossover.
CHX65.2 — Cicada Audio's Level 5 horn coaxial
The CHX65.2 sits at the top of Cicada Audio's coaxial range — a 6.5″ 2Ω driver rated at 300W RMS and 92 dB sensitivity, built around a Carbon Matrix Composite™ (CMC™) cone and an N35SH neodymium motor for low distortion at high output. Its aluminium horn tweeter, fitted with a Nanofram™ cover, controls high-frequency dispersion in a way a conventional dome tweeter mounted concentrically can't — keeping treble energy directed at the rider rather than scattering through the fairing cavity. The CHX65.2 is a direct fit for the factory 5.67″ cutout in 2014+ Harley-Davidson fairings, sold as a pair. On the road: the horn's controlled directivity keeps vocals and cymbals clear and forward at highway speed, without needing to push the tweeter level up to cut through wind and exhaust noise.
Why a 2Ω driver needs a DSP amplifier
Running a 2Ω speaker pair from a 4-channel amplifier means the amplifier has to deliver roughly double the current of a standard 4Ω setup — most factory-style amplifiers simply aren't built for that load. The FLX1400.4PRO is rated to drive 2Ω loads at its full 350W per channel, which is what lets the CHX65.2 pair reach its rated output rather than being current-limited by an undersized amp. The DSP then lets you protect that headroom with a properly set high-pass crossover, so the amplifier's power stays focused on the frequency range the CHX65.2 is built to reproduce. On the road: you get the full output the CHX65.2 is rated for, with the crossover protecting the driver from frequencies it was never designed to handle.
HDPG4K, HDFiM and HDFLXFO — wiring matched to the amplifier's draw
The FLX1400.4PRO calls for 4 AWG power and ground wiring and a 100A fuse to handle its current draw without voltage sag under sustained load — which is exactly what the HDPG4K kit provides: 4 AWG cable from battery to amplifier, a waterproof Mini ANL fuse holder, and a remote trigger lead that plugs straight into the Harley harness. The HDFiM carries the audio signal from the radio to the front fairing amplifier position, and the HDFLXFO delivers the amplified signal out to the CHX65.2 pair — both built to plug directly into the factory connectors with no splicing. On the road: properly sized wiring means the amplifier can deliver its rated power consistently, even with the stereo pushed hard for an extended ride.
14HDAR rack/mount and grilles — model-specific, factory-finish mounting
The amplifier rack and grilles are matched to your fairing. Road Glide® variants get the 14HDAR-RG rack and CHDRGG kidney grilles; Street Glide® variants get the 14HDAR-SG mount and CHDSGG round grilles — both grille styles finished to sit flush in the factory cutout with no visible gaps or non-standard trim. On the road: the finished install looks like it left the factory that way — no aftermarket brackets or mismatched grille shapes on display.
Radio Flash — Required Before Installation
The FLX1400.4PRO integrates directly with the Harley-Davidson factory infotainment system — and that integration only works correctly if your radio's firmware has been flashed to recognise and pass audio to the amplifier. Without this flash, the amplifier will not receive a usable signal from the factory head unit, regardless of how correctly the rest of the system is wired and installed.
This isn't an optional upgrade step — it's a prerequisite. Plan for it before your install date, not on the day of fitting, since it typically needs to be arranged through MAA or an installer with the correct flashing tools for your model year. Trying to run this amplifier on an unflashed radio is the most common cause of "no audio" support calls on FLX-based DSP systems.
If you're not sure whether your bike's radio has already been flashed for a Cicada Audio amplifier install — for example, if you've had other Cicada Audio components fitted previously — get in touch with MAA before ordering so we can confirm what's already been done and what (if anything) still needs to happen before this system goes in.
