Running a 6×9-inch coaxial or horn coaxial speaker alongside a Cicada Audio® CMB8.S4 or CMB10.S4 pro mid-bass driver in the same saddlebag creates a shared air space — at the excursion levels a pro mid-bass driver generates, that shared air will cause the 6×9 cone to move in response, acting as a passive radiator. This degrades mid-bass output and puts uncontrolled stress on the 6×9 speaker. The CHD69SD is a flexible silicone divider that sits between the speaker positions, breaking the shared air path and allowing each driver to operate independently.
⚠️ Critical installation requirement: The amplifier or DSP crossover must be set to 250 Hz at 12–24 dB/octave or higher when using this divider. Any crossover point below 250 Hz will cause distortion and may permanently damage the speaker. Damage from incorrect crossover settings is not covered under warranty.
