This half-inch lower fairing speaker spacer adds the depth a deep-profile 6.5 inch speaker needs to clear the inner fairing structure on a Harley-Davidson® Touring bike. Many high-power and pro-audio 6.5 inch drivers have larger magnets and baskets that foul a shallow lower fairing, and this spacer removes that interference while improving airflow behind the cone. Made from rigid, non-resonant composite. Sold individually.
This is a fitment part, not a speaker. It solves the single most common lower fairing problem: a good 6.5 inch driver that is physically too deep to sit flat.
Who This Is For
You are fitting a deep-magnet 6.5 inch speaker into a Harley lower fairing and the basket or magnet is fouling the inner panel. This spacer adds half an inch of clearance for drivers such as the Hertz SX165 NEO, the Velocity RZ65H or the Cicada CXX65.4. For 6x9 saddlebag lids that need the same clearance, use the half-inch 6x9 spacer pair instead.
What This Is Best For
- Clearing an oversized motor. The half-inch of depth lets a deep magnet assembly sit without striking the inner fairing, which is what prevents a rub or a speaker that will not seat.
- Proper cone excursion. With the driver clear of the panel it can move freely, which reduces distortion and cleans up midbass at volume.
- Better airflow. Space behind the cone improves midbass performance rather than choking the driver against a flat panel.
- Stable, non-resonant mounting. The rigid material holds the speaker steady at high output instead of flexing or ringing.
Do you need the spacer
Not every 6.5 inch speaker needs it. Shallow-mount drivers sit fine in a stock lower fairing. You need this spacer when a deep-magnet or pro-audio 6.5 inch speaker fouls the inner fairing panel or will not seat flush. It is sold individually, so order one per side. Why depth and airflow matter
A lower fairing pocket is shallow, and a modern 6.5 inch speaker often carries a larger motor than the factory driver it replaces. The half-inch spacer moves the speaker out just enough to clear the inner structure. In practice: the driver seats flat, the magnet clears the panel, and the cone has room to move without striking anything.
